Raw Food Ratio Calculator

Variety is the key to raw feeding. You are not aiming to feed a "complete and balanced" meal at every serving but to achieve the balance over time by feeding variety.

Review Feeding Goals below and select the type of animal fed. Here, specific low-high goals will populate. You can also select Other to enter custom values.

Remember, you know your pet best so adjust according to their nutritional needs.

Next you will see our Food Details chart where you can select our products by using the dropdown option and meat/bone/organs (MBO) percentage automatically populate. Feel free to adjust the weight of food for your personalized recipes. Product text boxes below without a dropdown option can be used for manual weight and meat/bone/organs percentages.

Please note that MBO percentages are averages based on total lot production, but typically fall within a 1% variance.

Additional Nutritional Information:

Properly constructed, a raw diet is the very best nutrition for our domesticated carnivores. But you need to know what foods to feed, how to avoid imbalances and make sure you have enough vital minerals in the diet.

Remember, 4-5 different proteins in the diet is the goal. When you are determining what foods to feed, consider what Mother Nature intended.  I find myself asking, what would my fur baby eat in the wild, during which season, and how often would they eat a certain protein...

Imbalances in the diet can be avoided when the 80/10/10 is achieved by feeding a variety overtime.  Generally speaking, you should aim for 80% meat, 10% edible bone and 10% organ meats. Out of the 10% organ meats, half or 5% of this should be liver, as liver is the largest organ in the body.

Muscle meats, bones and organs each play an important role in a carnivore's diet.  But let's talk about Organs, as they are packed full of vitamins and minerals.  Of the 10% Organ Ratio in the 80/10/10, 5% of that must be Liver.  This leaves the remaining 5% to the other Secreting Organs. Secreting organs refers to Liver, Kidney, Pancreas, Brain, Spleen, Thymus, the Testicles and Ovaries. Which means that the muscular organs like Heart, Lung, Gizzard, and Tripe are fed as muscle meats in terms of feeding purposes.
