The Green Lipped Mussel has been found to have beneficial effects in relieving the pain, inflammation and symptoms associated with:
➡️ Osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease)
➡️ Rheumatoid Arthritis
➡️ Bursitis
➡️ Ankylosing Spondylitis
➡️ Sports Related Injuries
➡️ Lyme Disease
➡️ Inflammatory Skin Conditions
➡️ Connective Tissue Repair

The Green Lipped Mussel is grown on ropes suspended from platforms on the surface of the ocean. The ocean is continuously monitored to ensure that the growing environment is free from pollution and other contaminants. The mussels obtain their nutrients directly from the phytoplankton and minerals contained in the sea water. When the mussels are at their peak, they are harvested. The edible portion (excluding the shell) is freeze dried using low temperatures and vacuum to remove the water. This preserves the integrity of the bioactive molecules and ensures the stability of the activity of the many nutrients. Each lot of freeze dried Perna must pass the strict quality guidelines of the New Zealand Ministry of Fisheries. Each batch is analyzed to insure the absence of pathogenic bacteria and heavy metals.

• One level teaspoon is approximately 2000 MG. There is 6 teaspoons in an ounce. A 6 ounce bag will yield approximately 36 teaspoons.

Most people that know me know I am not a big fan of supplements. A good variety of raw meat/bones/organs, [some basic supplements for cats] and you will have healthy animals. I have never in the many years of feeding raw, supplemented my dogs with anything but some salmon oil or anchovy oil.

I was sent a sample of GLM to try for my dog Otis.

Otis was a 2 1/2 year old Dogue de Bordeaux and unfortunately broke his leg as a puppy.

The Vet that treated him kept telling me that everything was healing appropriately.

To make a very long story short, his leg was not okay. There was damage to the growth plate and his leg never grew correctly. Basically, I had a 150 lb. 3-legged dog. He started having difficulties with mobility.

Conventional vets [not the same one that treated him originally] gave this dog a death sentence. The vets projected that he would have an ACL tear in his good leg and that with his numerous mobility problems we would have to put him down with in 6 months. This was not an option. I started using alternative treatments with him. Homeopathy, massage therapy, laser treatments, chiropractic treatments and the GLM supplement.

Within 2 weeks of taking the GLM, Otis's mobility improved. With the combination of his other treatments and this supplement he has went from not being able to walk on his own to running and playing in the yard.

I have since started using this for my other dogs as well.

I cannot say if you will see the same results that I have seen but I would encourage anyone with a pet that is dealing with mobility issues or just aging in general to try this supplement.

On April 27, 2012 we made the painful decision to put Otis to sleep. I do believe that the GLM did extend his quality of life. You will be forever missed Otis.

2000 mg of GLM [approximate 1 level teaspoon] contains 71.4 mg Omega-3 fatty acid (EPA / DHA) The recommended dosage of omega-3 for dogs and cats varies by weight. For every 30 pounds of body weight, give 1,000 mg fish oil containing 300 mg of EPA/DHA combined. If feeding GLM at 1 teaspoon per day you would also feed fish oil and offset the dosage of the fish oil by 71.4 mg.

    Great for my senior dog

By Gabriela on April 24, 2022

My dog is now 9 years old, she's been on a raw food diet for 6 years now. Which I believe has contributed to how healthy she is and looks. But now that she is getting older I've been adding this to her meals. She seems to like the way it tastes. And she moves and runs around like she's still a young pup.

    One of my favorites!

By Logan on January 23, 2022

Definitely a staple in our household, it really comes in handy with our older dogs!

    Thank Goodness for GLM!

By Laurie on May 26, 2020

Just want to say how thankful I am for Hare Today. When I first started purchasing from them, I was guided to have Green-lipped Mussel (GLM) on hand, and to think of it as a natural medicine, for when tissue damage occurs. My granddog injured himself yesterday while playing with another dog and the GLM is distinctly helping. It's a great natural anti-inflammatory, along with providing the ability for tissues to heal. It has many great properties to it for all types of healing to come when using this. I had guided my son and his girlfriend, when they first got their pup to always have GLM on hand and same for chicken feet and gullet - for when cartilage, joint, muscle or tendon issues ever arose. Well, we are so thankful for the guidance from Hare today to the amazing healing that can come from their food and products! To go to the cupboard for the GLM and the freezer for the gullet and chicken feet...well it was very comforting to know help could come to their dog simply by what was already in their home! I am so grateful for all I learn from Hare Today to ensure the health of my companion animals and for my granddog, as well!

    Great quality and value

By Mareike on February 7, 2020

This is a unique and very recommendable product, as it's a single ingredient green lipped mussel supplement in freeze dried form. It's hard to say how much it's helped my dog with her joint issues, since she's on multiple supplements, but I will definitely order it again.

    My cat's favorite

By Lynn on July 19, 2019

I've given my cat cod liver oil, salmon oil, and previously green lipped mussel powder. Far and away this is his favorite. I put some on his food and he likes the taste very much.

    Easy and beneficial for sure!

By Sarah on August 24, 2017

I have an 8 year old Labrador who earlier this spring was showing early signs of arthritis and he also incurred a sports injury to his front leg from many years of obsessive ball retrieving. It was becoming apparent to me that we were no longer going to be able to continue the crazy running and jumping he so enjoyed during a good game of fetch. The sad reality that he was aging really hit me. I needed to do something.

I bought a bag of this green lipid mussel powder and started him on a loading dose divided between two meals morning and evening. The results were not instant but I would say after about 3 to 4 weeks, we started to see improvement. After a month or so, we could tell he was feeling better and acting more like a playful pup than a grumpy older dog. The difference was obvious! We then started to slowly ease back into our ball throwing routine with no signs of pain or discomfort. We keep our play times shorter and we are mindful of his new stage of life but thanks to this product, our sweet boy, Cody, doesn't have to give up everything he loves completely! He has been on this supplement for three months and we will keep him on it indefinitely. We also give it to our young miniature schnauzer as a preventative and we have seen her occasional coughing improve while on this powder... so good, good stuff here! Thank you Hare Today for keeping our pups going strong!

    Amazing Difference for a Newfoundland

By MJ on August 28, 2016

I have a Senior Newfoundland we rescued 4 years ago. He is somewhere between 11 and 13 years old. He's always had 'back end' issues and arthritis in his elbows and hocks. He's always been weak in the back. He has other health concerns that are life threatening. We've used pharmaceuticals to help manage his pain and try to keep him moving. But earlier this year he was miserable. He was wearing a full HelpEmUp harness to keep him steady and to keep him from going down. He is a raw fed dog. He's had laser and acupuncture and massage therapy. We live on a lake so he can swim. I was so sad I was going to have to make THAT decision, the one that would keep him from enduring this pain and stiffness. I was placing my order for my raw through Hare Today and threw a bag of Green Lippid Muscle Powder into my cart. I started my boy on a good sized loading dose, twice a day. And at about two weeks to three weeks, I noticed a HUGE change. He was playful, his head was up, he was moving, he wasn't moaning, his tail was up, he got a little 'RANDY' with our rescue girl...whaaa???? So I thought it might be just a fluke. He is cyclical. It went on for a full month. He's well into his third GOOD month. He's going back out on walks, short ones mind you, but he is out smelling the grass with his big Oar Paws hitting the road with me. I've cut back on his pharmaceuticals and sometimes need to up if it's been a busy day. But 'that' decision is off the table and we are trying to build up some muscle in the back end to help his weakness. I know there are other vendors for GLMP, but I will NOT try them. I keep it cool in the fridge and in the dark. I will not be without. I have converted many other Newfie owners over to the product. Hopeful their loved furry friends will experience the same relief as my old man Kodi.

    I agree - I won't be without this product!

By Melissa on May 7, 2016

I have a 16 year old cat that was just showing some signs of arthritis in his tail and hind legs in the last 6 months. Someone had recommended alfalfa sprouts, but I didn't see any improvement with that. Then I found Hare-Today and noticed this product. At first, I didn't really see a big difference, but I skipped giving it to him for a few days (not on purpose, just circumstances) and I noticed right away he was definitely walking funny and his hind end was more tender than it had been.

Honestly, he hates the stuff. He refuses to eat food with the product sprinkled on top (as recommended by the directions). And when he sees me getting it out, he hides. But I keep telling him -IT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER! And good Moms do what's best for their babies, not always what the babies like best.

The easiest way I've found is to add a small amount of water (I'm talking let the faucet literally DRIP and start with 6-9 drips and go from there adding 1-2 drips at a time) to the dry mix in a very small bowl or holding a larger bowl on the side & leaning it against something else to keep it tipped when you need your hands free - the idea is to contain the contents to one area, otherwise the bowl gets most of the product and not the cat. Mix the water and powder. Then I use a syringe to get it way in the back of his mouth so he can't spit it out. I used to mix it in a small amount of canned food and shove that in his mouth, but the syringe is easier - way less spitting.

When I'm done I always give him some Salmon Paws (which are sold under the treats section). That seems to make him feel better. He actually looks for them _"Hey I took my 'medicine' now give me a treat!"

He's not happy about it and it's a kind of a chore, but WORTH IT! So worth it!

    Wont be without it!!!

By Amanda on April 10, 2016

After a surgery we ended up with one of our bulldogs suffering from tracheal collapse due to damage done from being intubated. We darn near lost our boy. Tracy suggested immediately starting Preacher on this, which of course we listened and I am so glad we did!!!! Amazingly the cartilage in his trachea is rebuilding itself and knock on wood, we have not had 1 single episode since starting him (about 6 weeks ago!). We have even started giving this to his brother just as a supplement to keep him healthy and strong. I cannot express how happy we are with the results and we will never be without it!!!

    GREAT PRODUCT FOR SENIOR CATS

By GINNY on March 11, 2016

My two cats are both 13 years old. After a serious fall several years ago, our one cat was starting to limp noticeably and had stiffness upon getting up. Our other cat was diagnosed with a thyroid condition that requires essential fatty acids. Neither cat likes fish so fish oils didn't work, and some contained rosemary extract which the cats also hated. The answer has been Hare Today's green lipped mussel powder, which I've only been using for about 1 1/2 weeks. Already my limping cat no longer limps, and my thyroid cat has increased energy, good appetite, and better coat. Both cats have stopped scratching as well. Thank you again Tracy for carrying this whole food supplement!

    Dog with Spondylosis

By Maria on January 10, 2016

Our dog has spondylosis and this has helped her a lot. She has allergies also, and it seems to help with that too. She also very much enjoys the flavor of it. I put it on top of her raw food.

    Great for cats!

By Elizabeth on December 11, 2015

I have 2 senior cats, Zipper aged 12 and Diva aged 13. Diva had knee surgery earlier this year to remove a calcified benign tumor from beneath her knee cap in her left rear leg. She's recovered well, but her leg still bothered her with obvious stiffness and limping. I ordered a bag of green lipped mussel on Tracy's recommendation.

I have to admit Diva doesn't particularly like the stuff but she's consumed enough over the past 6 weeks to have made a huge difference. She is back to playing with her favorite mouse, playing tag with Zipper, and has improved mobility. She will always have a limp but she seems much more comfortable now.

Thanks Tracy!

    Green Lipped Mussel Powder--Human Grade

By ambinals on October 21, 2015

I love this product so much that I have passed it along to neighbors with older dogs and they have seen a big difference in their animals' mobility. Although Pearl is young, I give it to her to support her connective tissue.
