Product Weight, Packaging, and Processing Details
• 2 lb. chub bag, FINE ground.
• FINE Ground products are finished with our ¼” grinder plate, resulting in the diameter of the bone being no larger than 1/4”, but the length can vary a bit depending on how the bone is pushed through the grinder plate.
• Frozen in commercial freezers maintained at 0 degrees Fahrenheit or lower.
• Remember, heart and gizzard are considered muscle meats for feeding purposes, while liver is a secreting organ.
MBO percentages are averages based on total lot production, but typically fall within a 1% variance.

Nutrition and Benefits
• Boneless Chicken breast is a lean protein and contains many vitamins and minerals, as well as amino acids. This food is low in Saturated Fat and is also a good source of Phosphorus, and a very good source of Protein, Niacin, Vitamin B6 and Selenium, in particular.
• The Chicken Quarter was specifically chosen for it's dark meat. This cut includes a thigh, drumstick, and a part of the back. The leg of the chicken consists of two parts, which are the thigh and the drumstick. Dark meat is rich in vitamins A, K, B6, B12, niacin, folic acid, pantothenic acid and minerals like selenium and phosphorus. High Taurine levels are also associated with dark meat poultry.
• Chicken Liver is food is a good source of Thiamin, Zinc and Manganese, and a very good source of Protein, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folate, Vitamin B12, Pantothenic Acid, Iron, Phosphorus, Copper and Selenium.
• Chicken Hearts offers a good source of Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folate, Pantothenic Acid, Phosphorus and Copper, and a very good source of Protein, Riboflavin, Vitamin B12, Iron and Zinc. Hearts are also high in taurine which is essential for cats.
• Chicken Gizzards is a good source of Protein, Riboflavin, Niacin, Iron, Phosphorus and Zinc, and a very good source of Vitamin B12 and Selenium.

Don't be discouraged, cats can be stubborn and very picky. Warming meat a bit with a warm water bath can be helpful, make sure the meat is in a sealed container and place the container in warm water. This brings out the natural juices of the meat and helps to entice them to eat. NEVER cook bones or microwave. Make sure the meat is fresh, cats are very particular as far as freshness goes, 1-2 days in fridge.

I’m new to raw pet food and was a little worried it would be difficult or that It would take too much time day to day. I started off with the ground chicken/bones/organs and got the Alnutrin to mix in. I was surprised at how easy it was to prepare and freeze into small portions, and now that it’s done it doesn’t take any longer than it did before for meal times. My cat is much more satisfied and filled by the raw food than when he was having wet food and kibble. Never going back.

This review is for the 3 lbs coarse ground chicken. My cat loves it! I like that there are larger chunks for chewing. I found this chub easier to portion out than the 1 lbs. The 1 lbs chub seems to have more liquid. But the 3 lbs stays together more. The extra chewing is really great for my cat!

My cats love Hare-today products. I always order a whole 30 lbs box of ground meat and bone. Chicken and rabbit are their favourite flavours. I used to buy organic meat at Publix and grind it myself. It was a lot of work to chop and grind the meats. They didn’t like it as much as they love Hare-today’s meat.
Even though I am in Florida my ground package arrives almost completely frozen sometimes with 2 to 4 5lbs packages partially thawed. Last delivery was really awesome - not one packege was thawed!

I appreciate how reliably fresh and consistent this product is. This and the turkey grind are dietary staples for my cats. Even a small change in texture, odor, etc would be enough to put my cats off their food, but that never happens with Hare Today products. I'm so thankful I have this to rely on.
Important: this mix is 27% bone, which is way too much for cats. It needs to be balanced with boneless meat and liver - most convenient is 1/2 pound giblets and 1 lb other boneless meat, usually chicken or turkey thigh. I usually mix together this grind and the giblets and add supplements, then alternate feeding it with boneless meat in chunked form.

I purchased this ground chicken the last time it was on special. It's a very convenient and economical way to feed chicken, plus, it's a protein that's easily digested by both of my dogs. I really like the 5% liver content in this product, bone percentage is a bit heavy for my two so we offset this by following it up with a few boneless meals. The product is fresh, clean and well liked by my dogs. Definitely a good buy too when you need to keep costs low.

This is great stuff! The bone content is high for cats but I just add either chucks of chicken breast or ground chicken breast and a little extra organ. I started grinding my own chicken so haven't ordered this in some months. Truthfully, the quality is so good, the price so reasonable and, grinding can be a pain, so, am considering putting this back into my rotation. Hare-today makes it so easy to feed my cats quality raw, I can't believe I ever fed them anything else.

The ground chicken is a bit soupier than the other proteins we've tried but the cats still clean the entire plate.
Since switching to raw food our cat's coats are extremely soft and their poops have almost no smell! We switched from Wellness canned food to raw and the transition was easy. The cats prefer the raw and would eat the raw and leave the can while we were making the switch.

The meat was great! Kitty was very apprehensive of the texture. It was kinda mushy even though I reduced the amount of water added to mix his supplements.
The first half of the month I had to mix beef with the chicken to get him to eat it. I gradually reduced the amount of beef mixed in with each feeding and now he eats it just as is. He loved the taste but was weary of the texture. He now happily licks his dish clean.

I'm still new to raw feeding, and this was the first product I gave my dog. I would freeze it into big cubes so she'd eat it a bit more slowly, and she loves it. I also like the high bone content, as it made her stools much firmer, which will be good as I transition her on to other proteins with less bone.

The ground chicken/bones/organs is exactly what I expected - high quality, good color, odorless, and easy to work with. It was simple to mix into a pack of ground chicken breast along with an extra pack of chicken organs to bring up the ratio of the poultry meat and organs. The bones in the mixture are an even grind throughout.

Our cats have never been enthusiastic about the chicken we purchase at the store locally, which is supposed to be "natural". If given the choice between chicken and turkey, they'd always choose turkey. We usually make a mix of both because we want them to get some variety. However, they loved the hare-today chicken. The quality is obviously superior to what we've been purchasing because they ate it up quickly. No reason to bother doing all that work anymore, we'll just get it from here!

I got this for my puppy to help him get used to eating raw. It is smoother in constancy than other course grounds I got, so not quite sure i would call this really course-just slightly. But it was perfect for my new puppy. He is a fast eater so not only am i starting him out on ground i have him eating from a slow-feeder bowl. I've actually never seen Boo (11 lb. poodle) eat ANYTHING quite so quickly! She absolutely loves the ground chicken with bones and organs. We thaw the ground meat and roll it into 1 oz. meatballs and stick it in the freezer. In the evening we take out a couple, put them in a plastic bag and stick them in the refrigerator ready for breakfast the next morning. Easy-peasey. Boo has started trying to get INTO the refrigerator when I take out her ground chicken in the morning...not really a good plan...cute though!

My two cats have switched to a raw food diet and this ground chicken is the most affordable one I can find. I defrost two pounds of meat at a time and it lasts about three days between the two of them. I like that it comes by the pound because it defrosts by the end of the day. I'm going to start feeding them chicken necks to help clean their teeth. They're coats are so soft like a rabbit and my female cat doesn't have problems scooting anymore. This is worth the money!

After going through months of diarrhea and loose stools every time I fed my cats chicken, I was convinced that the reason they were having this problem was because they were allergic to chicken because that's what I was reading on the web. Turns out it's not the chicken but what's IN the chicken, like sodium and additives. Since I've been feeding them chicken and other meats from Hare Today, they have no problems. The consistency has changed. It is not like the coarse ground I use to get. When it's thawed it mushy. I won't purchase again until it is changed back to the original content. I was told because it was lacking enough liver. If it's gonna make the product mushy why not just leave it short the liver that was added and let the customer add to it. Liver is plentiful and cheap. Just let us know how much it's short and how much we should add.
Response: Most people want to feed 5% liver which is the recommendation for both dogs and cats. By adding the correct ratio of liver to 5% is what 99% of my costumers wanted. With additional liver in the grind it eliminates a step to add your own. Also liver is not easily accessible in some locations. If you feel it is too \"mushy\" you can drain it by putting it in a colander but the liquid should be fed as well.

I'm really new at feeding raw and I just received my shipment last week. I love they way everything was packed and even still completely frozen .The quality of the ground chicken turkey, and duck is great and I feel confident in feeding this raw meat.
Also I'm pleased to say that some of my cats prefer the raw already and next week I will switch to a little variety and add some turkey and duck.
If all goes well I will be ordering all my food from Hare-Today. I just love the easy way of getting it ground already, and not having to worry about buying grinders and keeping up with how fresh the meat is, at the supermarket.

This is a PREMIUM product. I have a four cats, all age 3. They were 2 when I started them on a raw diet. By 1 month on raw, they were devouring the course ground chicken. When it's meal time, they are in the kitchen practically climbing me to the first one to eat. I mix this up with a some chopped beef hearts, which I also get from Hare Today. From eating only this food, my 3 year old cats act like kitten again. They are so playful and active. Their coats are like silk, so soft and shiny. They no longer have gas and their BMs have no odor. I recommend this meat to anyone who is pondering whether or not to feed to raw. Cats will go crazy for it! The chunks are not too big, but big enough that the cats do have to chew. To bring the meat ratio up to 100% (from the original 68%), the bone content down to 10% (from the original 27%), and the organ content up to 10% (from the original 5%)...I also order 8.5 pounds of ground boneless meat and 1.5 pounds of ground organs.
Mixing the above meat and organ amounts to the 5lb ground chicken/bones/organ mixture (including the appropriate Alnutrin amount)= 80/10/10 ratio. Good to go!

I can't say enough about hare today. The chicken is perfect for my cat. He is 12 and was suffering a lot from diabetes and a thyroid condition from being on \"regular\" commercial food. We're very pleased with Hare Today's ground chicken with bones and organs, which my house and barn cats have been eating for a few years now. I used to buy very expensive, supposedly top quality kibbles at the high end pet food stores, but after a while no matter which varieties I tried they all made my cats throw up. A friend suggested Hare Today, and after experimenting with a few different meats we settled on this and one other. This is paws down my ferrets' favorite dish! It is convenient to serve on busy days, too, since before I was trying to cut chicken bits up small enough to appeal to them. I tried a couple meat grinders but got too frustrated. The manual grinder was too tough to process the amounts I was trying to process and I burnt the motor (and my meat grinder budget) out on an electrical one trying to grind chickens myself. I also feel good that I am now buying chickens from a farm I can feel good about, rather than supporting the abusive factory farms. Oh! I bought this product for my F1 Bengal kitten Marcus and he loves it!! I mixed it with ground rabbit and turkey and he can't get enough of this.

I have a senior dog who can only eat ground meat/bones now due to tieback surgery on the larynx. After feeding meat & whole bones most of her life, it was quite difficult to find a ground mixture that had the right amount of meat/bone/organ in it. So many products include too much bone, and not enough of the other parts of the animal. This product is fabulous. The ground chicken came packaged (along with my other meats) perfectly! The hardest part was getting it out of the packaging. I found that the chicken seemed to defrost or thaw out the best of all the meats so far. My cats are a little iffy, but they get that way with new stuff, at first. I think after a few days they will LOVE it! I love that it was ground perfectly, making it simple to mix in the water and Alnutrin. I do recommend starting out with a cup of water and mixing slowly so it isn't too soupy. I was a bit too quick with the water.

Another thing is when I've purchased at a poultry market they will put a lot of fat in it, so much that it looks so fatty and not much meat at all. My cats and dogs delight in this product.
With 11 cats and 2 dogs, I use it as a supplement to their regular dry food diet.
I feed it to them each morning and they await me impatiently until all are fed. When I run out, they scowl at me when I ignore them at the expected moment. This morning I promised them I would order it right away which I am doing as promised.

This product exceeded my expectations 10 times over. I was a little skeptical but once I defrosted it and opened the package is was very obvious that this was exceptionally fresh meat. There was no "chicken odor" to it. It's by far better then anything I could have found in a super market and the convenience of having it delivered already ground saves me hours in the kitchen doing it myself. I also purchased livers, gizzards and hearts which were all equally as fresh. Had the packages not been labeled "Not Fit for Human Consumption", I would have fried some up and ate them myself. I mix some other goodies in with it like flax oil (for coats) and 2 raw (homegrown) egg yolks and a big tablespoon of either barley green or wheat grass powder. I just started my cats and dogs on raw food 2 months ago. So far the chicken is the favorite with the cats, along with the duck hearts and rabbit ears. The ground rabbit didn't go over too well, perhaps it has a much stronger flavor. The dogs love everything I tried them on and really enjoy the green tripe mixed in. They are all looking wonderful!
