Happy, HEALTHY raw fed kitties

By Lisa on June 27, 2016

We got two foster kittens in February 2016 and they had pretty severe diarrhea which did not resolve no matter how many different foods we tried. We switched them from high quality commercial kibble after kibble, and finally agreed to try a specific protein prescription food (rabbit) that the vet hoped would make a difference. Unfortunately it didn't and the kittens were becoming severely ill with painful physical symptoms. :( The male cat, Freyr, was especially affected.

Meanwhile we had another adopted cat (Galatea) who was becoming pretty overweight even though she was super active and ate very lightly. She had worms initially but started getting a round belly again and the vet said she just needed more exercise and less food... except she is a very active kitty who barely eats!

We tried feeding chicken initially but it turns out both kittens are also allergic to chicken, unfortunately, and Galatea cannot tolerate kibble at all, nor can Freyr.

Because we have 8 cats I was initially worried about how we were going to afford to feed them all raw. But thanks to Hare Today we are able to get rabbit at reasonable prices. We have been feeding raw for about 3 weeks now and have 6 cats who have transitioned over and two holdouts who we are very slowly transitioning. I cannot believe the difference in the raw fed cats! The kittens are SO much healthier, no diarrhea and their coats are finally starting to fill out. Galatea, our overweight kitty is slimming down considerably as well. I am amazed at the difference and very excited that we can do something to keep these cats healthy throughout their lives.

If you aren't feeding raw, you aren't feeding right!

By Caryn on June 25, 2016

I've been feeding raw long before it was trendy, when it was difficult to obtain and store and lacking the convenience of availability today. It wasn't organic and there were visits to slaughterhouses and sights I can't "unremember".

With Hare Today, there is no excuse not to feed your pets the way they were intended to be fed, with all the convenience of feeding kibble, but none of the associated health issues, in addition to the expert guidance and excellent customer service from the owners.

As a result of raw feeding for more than 25 years, 4 generations of afghans, and now two mixed breeds have never required dentals, none have had cancer or any major health issues. Their skin and coats have been phenomenal. All who have passed, did so from natural causes (age) and all lived well beyond the average and excelled in athletic events (lure coursing, agility, frisbee, etc.)

I've tried several suppliers over many years and Hare Today is the best regarding product quality and choice, customer service, pricing (in line with most), and the online order process.
Seriously - best yet! I will continue to order from Hare Today as long as the aforementioned remains consistent.
Thanks Tracy!

Excellent company and products

By Rosemary on June 24, 2016

Just got our 2nd order and had to write. 16 little paws up for everything.
I had two out of four cats that would not eat organs or anything with organs in it. The ground organs you offer solved that problem. All four kitties ate their raw meat with ground organs mixed in. So far they have had the ground rabbit organs and ground chicken organs. I have the ground turkey organs too and I'm confident they will be just as excited . I'm sure we'll try other varieties in the future.
They all love the semi dressed quail. Perfect for newbie bone eaters.
All your meats, ground or chunks are very fresh and arrive in excellent condition. I am a 2 day ship and everything arrives still frozen or slightly starting to thaw. Works out well because I can break down the slightly thawed into smaller portions right away. Thank you! Your company is a Godsend to me and our little carnivores. Awesome variety too!

Tigs

By Tiffany on June 24, 2016

When I adopted Tigs he was overweight and had symptoms of hip dysplasia. The day I brought him home, he jumped onto a table and his hips gave out right underneath him.

Transitioning Tigs off of dry kibble was very difficult and it wasn't until I found this site and their awesome products that we found a raw meat food that he will happily eat.
He's lost a ton of weight and now runs and jumps all over with apparently no hip problems :) Thanks Hare Today!

No more allergies

By sara on June 19, 2016

I have a dog who has food allergies. After conducting a food elimination trial I discovered she is allergic to chicken, beef and pork. My choices for a raw meat became limited but thanks to hare today I have access to rabbit, venison and bison and my dog is no longer miserable and itchy

Feeling Great on Raw!

By Julie on June 19, 2016

My 4 year old cat Alex and my 2 year old dog Maddie both love the food I get from Hare Today! Not only that, but switching to a raw diet has done wonders for the health of both of my pets.

I switched both animals to a raw diet after Alex had a very scary health episode. He started vomiting several times a day without warning. After several trips to the vet failed to show any obvious reasons for the vomiting, the vet said it may be IBS and Alex was put on a novel protein canned food diet. The vomiting continued for a few more days, and since I wasn't happy with the diagnosis, I started to research the proper diet for cats (raw meat!). Well, as it turns out, Alex had actually eaten a piece of rubber from a dog toy that Maddie had destroyed (rubber toys were also banished from my house after this, along with the kibble!). The rubber piece eventually became a full obstruction, causing Alex to need emergency surgery to remove it. But the silver lining of the whole ordeal was that my eyes were opened to the proper diet for my pets.

After Alex fully recovered from his surgery, I transitioned him to a raw diet. I decided to also switch Maddie to raw since I was now convinced that the reason she suffered from ear infections, diarrhea, and skin irritations was because of the processed kibble she was eating. Now both Alex and Maddie are happy, active pets and no longer suffer from any teeth, skin, or digestive issues.

I can't thank Hare Today enough for providing such a great product for my pets! I love the wide range of proteins they offer, and I have yet to find a product my pets don't love!

Hare Today is awesome!

By Aeron on June 17, 2016

I've had my lynx point Siamese, Sora, on the raw diet since late 2015, and she really has been doing well. It seems like she can no longer stomach canned food. Sometimes when waiting to buy more meat, we give her some grain free canned but she just can't keep it down. I'm happy that she takes well to raw meat, her stomach calms down instantly and she does fine on it. I'm so glad I learned about feeding raw a while back, otherwise she would've had stomach issues for who knows how long.

When we first found her years ago we had her on only kibble. My other cat Milo passed away to an all kibble diet, it caused his liver and kidneys to fail. I'm just relieved that we got her off that diet because it would have been horrible for it to happen all over again.

So thanks, Hare Today. Your products are wonderful! So many pets' lives have improved thanks to you!

Irish Wolfhounds

By Maureen on June 17, 2016

Cara Mia, now 18 weeks, is our fourth raw fed dog. Tracy has been a wonderful guide and support especially when one of our girls was diagnosed with a liver shunt and could no longer ear much protein much less raw.
They all have been happy carnivores. I hoped it might extend lives but always felt that if it did not, they sure did enjoy their meals while they were here.
We recently lost Coleen who would have been 10 this month - that is very old for a giant breed dog.
Cara Mia has been raw fed since she joined our family at nine weeks. She is an interesting carnivore and seems to like whole prey better than ground. It is a joy for us to watch her natural instincts kick in as she enjoys her meals.

Bella - UTI problems no more!

By Stefanie on June 14, 2016

I have a mixed breed kitty who I adopted from the humane society in 2007 while I was in college. Growing up, all I knew was to feed my animals kibble.

Within 2 or 3 years, Bella started having UTI issues. She would sit in her litter box to go number 1 and nothing would come out, she was constantly cleaning herself, and she was just generally unhappy because of the pain.

I took her to the vet and the vet (at the time, I no longer go to her) did all kinds of tests and ended up telling me that she had anxiety and prescribed anxiety medicine. Xanax for my kitty? No way. I thought to myself - how the heck could my cat be diagnosed with anxiety? It just didn't add up.

So, I started researching what REALLY causes UTI issues in kitties .... their diet. At first, I tried switching her to wet food which was a terrible transition for me and her.
After no success, I attempted the raw diet. It was completely out of my comfort zone at first, I was nervous about the recipe I was using and if it was complete enough for Bella. I actually started off by spoon feeding her because she wouldn't eat it herself (I think it was a texture thing and she was addicted to that kitty crack (kibble).

Now, whenever I get her meals out of the freezer, she salivates! In conclusion, she's happier, so much healthier, and has not been back to the vet since.

Raw is the way to go. It's more expensive and more work, but you'll eliminate so much stress by not going to the vet and you will have a happier, healthier pet - which they all deserve. Remember, we choose them, they don't choose us! (In most cases) :-)
