I believe raw food saved our dog!

By Jennifer on March 18, 2016

Our Leonberger Rex was really sick and after spending thousands in diagnostic tests and one misdiagnosis, biopsies from and endoscopy confirmed inflammatory bowel disease. How could that be at only 2 years old?

Reluctantly tried the prescription diet advised by the vet and he wouldn't eat it, even on prednisone and high doses of tylosin. His stools were terrible and he looked like an old sick dog ready to die. It was awful.

Finally, decided to try it my way and started him on raw. Best thing we did. He gained weight, got him off both medications, his stools are normal and his coat is thick and healthy. I don't believe he would have made it to 7 1/2 years old now if we hadn't decided to feed him raw these last 4+ years.

Hare Today has great quality products and has been a fantastic company. Here are the before and after pictures!

Going raw is the best way to go!

By Lydia on March 16, 2016

I worked at pet stores for a while and always thought that buying the most expensive kibble was the best I could do for my dog, Hank.
Learning more about dog food, though, I realized that feeding a natural, raw diet is more appropriate and way better in the long run. Hank has been eating raw for less than a year and even though he was healthy before, there are still obvious and good changes. His coat is shiner, he is svelte, and his poops are better!
It's amazing how many things are sold in pet stores that are simply unnecessary for a dog on a raw diet. Supplements, toothpaste, food toppers...all things that may temporarily solve a problem when a species-appropriate diet is really the solution.
I'm so glad to have found Hare Today because it makes it easy to get the variety and quality I want for my dog.

Raw Food Fixed Her Stomach

By Melissa on March 16, 2016

We have a very sweet German Shepherd. Around 6 months of age she developed some stomach issues. Periodically she would randomly throw up bile. Initially it was once in awhile, but soon it progressed to daily. At that point her stomach was soooo upset she would stop eating.
So we would head to the vet, get some medication to soothe her stomach try a new food and things would settle down, for a few months before her stomach acted back up again.
Finally after 3 years of this healthy/sick rhythm, we switched her to raw, so we could control exactly what went in her mouth. Since then we have been able to identify specific proteins that inflame her stomach and we have been virtually vet-free. On top of that she is leaner, her coat is best its ever been and she LOVES eating.
Raw food fixed her stomach and I couldn't be happier!

Finding Hare Today has been a godsend. As it turns out two of the most inexpensive proteins -- turkey and chicken, along with lamb -- are cultprits in her digestive issues. The variety of proteins available, from fish, to rabbit, bison, quail etc to supplement her beef and pork with are great. The quality is always superb. Thank you!

Hare-today fuels my best friemd

By Alexander on March 12, 2016

I have a wonderful 2 1/2 year old Belgian Malinois, Casey. She not only is my best friend, she is aslo my Service dog. Casey has opened up many doors for, such as School, independent living, using public transportation, et cetera.

While I am a vegan, she is not. I am grateful for hare-today for supplying the healthy food for my dog. Mentally and physically, she is healthiest on a raw diet of animal proteins, bone, and organ.

Tracy at hare-today provides great packaging, customer support and always leaves me satisfied as a customer. It is not without a lot of distress that I purchase animal flesh. However, knowing the health benefits, understanding that God made dog a meat eater, and having a reliable source minimizes my discomfort.

I pray routinely that the animals somehow find comfort knowing that they are being consumed by an animal who truly benefits from the nutrition, not merely a pleasure seeking human.

The road to weight-loss made easy

By Greta on March 11, 2016

Daisy, my wonderful, sweet Torbie had been overweight most of her life. It had gotten to the point that she could not clean herself, and in attempts to do so -- she was licking all of her belly fur off. After many months of trying several foods (and Daisy developing a food allergy), I had had enough. I discovered raw, and made the switch.

Hare Today was the first supplier of raw food that I ordered from... and I have no plans to ever try another farm. I trust the quality and integrity of their meats, and I love that I am supporting a local PA farm. The variety of meats, treats, and products that they offer are wonderful, and the rewards program actually makes ordering raw fun! The icing on the cake is getting newsletters with updates and coupons. It makes me feel like I am really involved in what's going on. Thanks for making it so easy and for helping my baby finally lose that weight after all these years!

Tripe, the miracle food

By Caroline on March 9, 2016

I ordered the 5 lb raw green tripe strips with spleen, some time back along with a bunch of other stuff. That way too, I got some extra organ meat in the bargain. I like that it has a little spleen attached. The tripe is the most atrocious smelling stuff. But OMG! What a miracle!

My old dog, Jose` had the most odoriferous breath. It was worse than any bad breath. It had a quality of a poisonous gas to it and you could smell him from across the room. Two vets couldn't seem to figure it out.
One thought acid re-flux, so antacid was recommended. One thought he needed digestive enzymes which I paid a lot of money for and nothing helped whatsoever.

His teeth were fine, had been cleaned recently. So, after starting a raw meaty bone diet for my two Poodles and Jose` (a Chihuahua type) they have been doing very well. And here's the miracle.
After feeding a small chunk of raw green tripe with every meal, Jose`'s bad breath disappeared. He is less arthritic, more energetic and his coat looks like it was polished. Their teeth glow in the dark...all of them.
So I'm ordering some more of this wonder food today! I won't let the offensive smell deter me in any way. ha!

Best food ever!

By Piper on March 9, 2016

When I adopted Nikki 7 years ago she was ALWAYS sick.

She had diarrhea every few weeks for over a year, and all the vet could recommend was permanent antibiotics.

When a friend recommended raw food I was skeptical but desperate. A raw diet fixed her digestion, but the commercial preparation really took a bite out of my pocket.
Then earlier this year, Nikki's sister, Natasha came down with pancreatitis and I learned that most of the raw preparations are incredibly high in fat. They had both done so well on raw food that I could imagine switching Natasha back to kibble while her sister feasted on meat.

That was when I found Hare Today. The wide variety of proteins and preparations allows me to make selections that are meet both of my dogs' needs, and did I mention they love the food? We rotate between the goat, the rabbit and the whitefish for delicious food that is lower fat too!

Benefits of raw

By Brian on March 7, 2016

We have had 3-4 cats our whole lives and lived long lives but were over weigh, t see my parent fed dry.

About 10 years ago I started making my own cat food and found places on line to buy it, I had to grind it myself it was a chore, so I went to dry also and my cats got fat.

So about 3 years ago I found Hare today and their fine ground food and haven't looked back. My cats lost weight but what I found the most surprising was the texture of their fur. My cats always has a course fur. On Raw I really have noticed how silky their coats are almost like a plush toy. They also play a whole more even at 5 am lol...

Your dog deserves the BEST!

By Tracey on March 3, 2016

When I got my first Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, I was very excited that I could finally afford to feed a high quality food since he was a small breed.

After researching many brands of kibble, I became disillusioned by all of the fillers (junk) in even the highest quality ones. By the time he was 6 months old, I had adopted a second Cavalier and done significant research on raw feeding, so I put them both on a completely raw commercial diet. As our family has continued to grow, with another adoption and rescue, it became necessary to find a more economical source of quality meat. I have been incredibly happy with Hare Today, Gone Tomorrow's quality and variety of proteins.

We attend many Cavalier functions. Compared to others of the same breed, I have 4 of the healthiest I have ever seen. To date, they have zero health problems and all are at their ideal weights, which is almost unheard of for the breed. When asked my secret, I tell people that a raw diet and daily exercise are the key to happy, healthy dogs.

Freya and raw

By Victoria on March 3, 2016

I have been feeding my ferret, Freya Marie, raw food for several years now.

I rely heavily on Hare Today to supply a variety of quality raw meats to supplement her diet.

She's quite elderly for a ferret (7 1/2 years old!) but her teeth do not have a speck of tartar and her coat is as shiny and soft as if she were a kit.
So far she has managed to avoid many of the diet-related illnesses that ferrets tend to acquire when fed kibble.

Both her vet and myself attribute all of these qualities to her well-balanced raw diet!
