Hare Today Gone Tomorrow-Quality Food

By haley on January 29, 2016

We have 2 dogs, a 27 lb Shetland Sheepdog and a 30 lb Beagle. Both boys have been fed raw for over a year now.

We just placed our second order with HTGT for a lot of grinds because we wanted to try some new proteins. We love how everything came frozen solid and well packaged without any leaks.
We got ground rabbit, ground goat, ground mutton, ground llama and tripe. Everything was so fresh. All of the meat looks very meaty and lean and not as fatty as some grinds can be (like mutton and goat tend to be really fatty). The rabbit is a favorite here and we will be ordering next time around from here!!!

Thanks for providing such good quality food for our beloved babies!!

First Shipment

By Sandy on January 29, 2016

Received Boo's first ever order from Hare Today recently, and was very pleased! Still frozen solid after 2 days in transit, neatly packaged, and absolutely wonderful looking products. I thawed out the ground chicken with bones and organs in the refrigerator, divided it up into 1 oz. meatballs and refroze them. Did the same with the ground organ meat, but made smaller portions. Now all I have to do is thaw out two meatballs for each meal and we're good to go...what could be easier.

I'll be feeding the organs with the duck necks, mutton bones and duck feet we got, so Boo will be eating pretty well. Since she only weighs 11# this will last for a bit, but I certainly will be a returning customer! I've even talked with several of my dog friends, and hopefully we'll be putting in a combined order in the near future...there are still SO many things Boo wants to try!!!

Thanks so much for making such wonderful products for the raw fed member of my family!!

Only the best for my dog!

By Renee on January 29, 2016

Raw feeding has helped Rio from yeast overgrowth due to antibiotics given for a UTI.
He lost huge clumps of fur, rash and itchy skin.

Eating raw provided him with the nutrients he needed to help hair regrowth and clear up the yeast. Kibble would have just made it worst with the added fillers and carbs.

One hundred percent raw protein helped him to recover. Just look at his coat now.

Thank you Tracy for such great products.

Boomer and Li Love Hare Today

Happy Customer

By yonah on January 22, 2016

Since switching to a raw food diet, my cats have not once vomited or had loose stools. They're poop is virtually odorless which is a plus.
I used to buy them expensive Orijen dry food and I can say that buying raw food is not that much more expensive. My cats eat less raw food than dry food because they feel fuller longer and the fiber helps my female cat from scooting across the floor.

I'm going to buy chicken necks to help clean their teeth which will help save me hundreds of dollars in vet bills. I use freeze dried raw treats for when I am toilet training my cats and so far it seems compatible with the raw diet.

Extra time spent with my best friend

By Becky on January 22, 2016

I switched my German Shepherd to raw two years before he passed away. He had been on high-end (expensive) kibble most of his life and his allergies just kept getting worse, not to mention that the lower part of his spine ended up calcifying and causing his mobility to deteriorate. I tried organic and grain free and every kind of food there was...nothing helped.

I switched to raw when he was at the point where he kept injuring himself because he was compensating so much with his front legs to make up for the immobility in his back-end. I remember laying on the floor with him one night crying thinking he was getting close to the end, and he was only 9.

When I switched to raw, he bounced back and for a while, started acting like a puppy again (even to the point of being annoying!). He stopped injuring himself and could run around wonderfully. And raw meat made him SO happy!

He ended up passing away at the age of 11 and I swear feeding raw gave him an extra year.

My raw feeding testimonial

By Cyndi on January 22, 2016

I started feeding my dog Bailey raw about 3 years ago. I had just adopted her after losing my doggie soul-mate Moose, after 11 years. I had done some research about raw feeding and realized that I had fed my beloved Doberman CRAP for all his life.

When I realized the garbage that goes into commercial dog food, I literally cried for my dog. I loved him more than life itself and I had literally fed him garbage and poison for 11 years!!

I did research on raw feeding and started my newly adopted Bailey on raw within a month. Within a couple weeks, she had more energy, her eyes were brighter and her coat was shiny and she just looked healthier.

There is no better feeling than knowing exactly what your pet is eating and I feel good knowing she is eating healthy and not eating crap in a bag. I control what she gets and she LOVES HER RAW FOOD!!
Hare Today has been a godsend!!

There is hope!

By Antoinette on January 20, 2016

One day ( two years after he was born) my cat Simion started having these strange wounds show up on the inside of his little ankles! I was so surprised and alarmed....well as luck would have it my little Simi was allergic to chicken in canned food!

After a long trial period of adding and subtracting different proteins,it became apparent I would have to try the raw diet. I had tried the diet before with sick or weak rescues but didn't think I could afford it on a regular basis.

But now faced with this horrible condition and the future offering only constant steroid use ...I decided to go for it. I am so glad I did.

Simion is doing so much better and as long as he doesn't wander to the neighbors to sneak some of their dry food...he remains happy and healthy on a major raw rabbit diet.

Thank you Hare Today for providing such a consistent and healthy alternative for me and my Simi!

Hugely improved my cat's health and wellbeing

By Karen on January 18, 2016

We’re a 3 indoor cat family - Arwen and Lego were both adopted as young adults from a local shelter in 2010 and came to us with health issues.

Arwen had regular coughing fits and permanently runny eyes and was diagnosed to have asthma and feline herpes .She was also almost perpetually constipated and threw up several times a week.
Lego was extremely underweight and constantly sneezing (I became very good at removing cat snot off our walls and baseboards) and had bad breath and a few rotten teeth.

I had fed my previous cats a quality canned food diet supplemented with regular “treats” of raw chicken breast and chicken livers and they had both thrived, living well into their late teens, but we were advised by our vet to feed Arwen and Lego Hills Science Diet dried food specifically formulated for their medical issues.

Both cats gained weight rapidly and despite Arwen’s regular vomiting in just a year her weight increased from less than 8 pounds to over 14.

Further trips to the vets involved annual teeth cleans and extractions for Lego, and constant blood tests to try to get to the bottom of Arwen’s digestive problems.

She was switched onto the Science Diet Satiety formula but continued to gain weight even though we were feeding her the recommended portion sizes.
She was constantly yowling with hunger and would eat just about anything she could get her paws on, including our house plants and bird seed as well as trying to steal leftovers.
Her eye problems and asthma also showed no signed of improvement and I was feeding her the maximum recommended dose of Lysine daily.

I started researching feline obesity online and rapidly came to the conclusion I needed to get both cats off of dried food as soon as possible and so I started to feed them a variety of different premium canned foods.

Lego took to the change really well but Arwen was less enthusiastic and it took several months for her to fully transition to a wet only diet, but eventually she accepted the new regimen.
Her weight dropped steadily and within a year she had reached a healthy 9.2 pounds and her asthma had completely vanished, although her herpes remained a problem and she still suffered badly with constipation.
Lego gained some much needed weight but his breath was still very smelly and he still seemed to have a lot of dental issues,

Our third cat Gizmo came into our lives in the spring of 2013 when we rescued 3 feral kittens from our barn. I fostered them in our basement and found homes for his brother and sister but we became very attached to him and so he joined our feline family. We started him on wet food and he was always very healthy - a typical playful bouncy kitten.

Arwen’s health however continued to decline. She vomited regularly and by process of elimination we found there was only one brand she could eat (Evo) and even this she brought up 2 or 3 times a week.

The vet diagnosed Inflammatory Bowel Disease but advised there wasn’t much that could be done about it. The vomiting increased in frequency to the point it was an almost daily occurrence. I did everything I could think of - fed her 4 to 6 small meals a day, added coconut oil and spirulina for their anti-inflammitory properties as well as probiotics, brushed all 3 cats vigorously every day to minimize fur balls. Nothing seemed to work.

My normally playful cat was becoming listless and lethargic with sunken eyes and dull fur, and I was sure she was beginning to suffer from malnutrition. In desperation I did more research online and stumbled upon feline-nutrition.org

Reading the info on the site was a revelation to me - and it made so much sense! Cats are obligate carnivores that have evolved to meet raw meat and of course subjecting them to kibble and highly processed “meat” was bound to be bad for them.

I started experimenting. I bought chicken breasts and livers from Kroger and added a complete supplement.

All 3 cats went crazy for them and Arwen seemed to be throwing up a little less. I decided to take the plunge and move her to a fully raw diet and placed my first order with hare-today.com - whole ground chicken, turkey and rabbit carcasses, plus all the supplements recommended on the feline nutrition site.

Following the feline nutrition recipe http://feline-nutrition.org/attachments/Recipe_Calculator.html (plus 1/2 teaspoon of spirulina and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil per pound) I batch processed a whole month’s worth and bagged it up in one day portions (4 ounces) in zip-lock baggies for the freezer.

Arwen clearly loved her new diet but inhaled it so fast that she often brought it straight back up. I started to feed her 4 times a day in a patty tin, dividing each ounce into 12 tiny pea sized portions to slow her down. Within days her energy levels went through the roof - she was bouncing around like a kitten and wanted to play all the time.
After a week or 2 her vomiting had reduced to once every couple of days, then twice a week, then once…. I started feeding her from a slow feed bowl http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001B0Y1S0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage which also seemed to help.

Almost 6 months on and she rarely vomits. Her eyes have improved immensely and I’ve been able to halve her daily dose of Lysine. Her coat is soft and shiny and her breath is sweet. Both my boys are now on a pure raw food diet too, and are thriving on it with way more energy and softer coats. Lego’s breath has massively improved and I’m hoping it’s also improving his dental health and that his annual extractions will be a thing of the past. Their feces are virtually scentless and cleaning the litter tray is no longer the unpleasant task it used to be.

Yes there is more effort and planning involved, but the dramatic improvements to the health and vitality of our cats definitely make it all worthwhile. I just wished I had done it sooner!

Raw is Best!!!

By Mark on January 18, 2016

My Rotties DBo and Major, weren't pick of the litter pups. Feeding them a raw diet, from day one, has made them both bigger and healthier than their litter mates! Their coats are thick and have great sheen!
Everywhere they go, people comment on their coats, their fresh breath and extremely clean teeth, all thanks to feeding a raw diet!

Hare Today is a great source for raw foods to feed your dogs. Shipments are fast, well packaged and frozen!
My boys LOVE the green tripe and the beef gullets! DBo is the youngest (2yrs)and he currently weighs 128 lbs, Major is the oldest (2 1/2 yrs) and weighs 115 lbs.
