Smelly but doggies love it
By Rosie on January 20, 2022
I hate prepping this, but it is good for my dog, so I am willing to deal with it and just buy this for the sake of their health.
It's messy to prep, but the benefits just outweighs the hassle.
My dogs love it when I mix this in with other protein.
Great Additive to Other Ground Meats
By Teresa on July 27, 2020
The Ground Atlantic Herring made a great additive to my dogs’ other ground meats to improve the taste and smell. My pups love really smelly foods!
ecxiting change

My Golden Girls loved the change of protein in their bowl when we gave them ground Atlantic herring.
Great Mixer and Treat
By Esther on April 20, 2017
My dog loved the herring. I mixed it in with her main raw meals. I also made bite size frozen herring ball treats -- whenever I opened the container, she would come running knowing exactly what I had in my hands.
I only checked the nutritional value after purchasing the product, and it doesn't have even half as much of the vitamins and nutrients as sardines or salmon. But, still a quality product at a first tier value price-point. Happy that this is still an option since the other choices may be out of others' price range. Personally, I'll definitely be purchasing the sardines and salmon next. Rather pay extra for the much needed nutrients my senior dog requires.
quality product, but cats didn't care for it
By Andrea on October 19, 2016
You can tell the quality of the fish is fresh, but my domestic cats refuse to eat it. Luckily, the feral cats outside are more than happy to eat what our cats will not.
One of my Dog's Favorites
By Kolby on September 26, 2016
I had not ever fed my dog fish before due to not having a way to include fish in her raw diet. I decided to include some of the herring in my order to see how she would do with eating fish. She absolutely loves the days when she gets fish, evident by her dancing paws and literally licking the bowl clean. I love knowing that I can feed her fish for the omega 3 benefits that oily fish provides. Thank you, Tracy, for including fish protein sources in your product offerings.
Rio says, "yummy"
By Renee on September 23, 2016
This was my first time ordering the ground atlantic herring and I'm so happy I did. I was afraid my dog would not eat it and I was so wrong. He really likes it. I add a small amount with each meal to make sure he gets enough omega 3's along with an oil capsule in the morning. I certainly will be ordering more and I'll try the sardines next. Thanks Tracy.
Great way to get fish I the diet
By Susan on September 5, 2016
My dogs loved this product. Arrived frozen and when thawed seemed fresh with very little odor. Much better option than grocery store cans for getting fish into the diet
Ground salmon

My cats love this product so much. I can barely get the bowl down without them jumping on me and meowing lol

This product has done wonders for the coats of my 3 dogs and cat. They all love it!
By Hannah on April 7, 2014
Quality is fine, BUT my cat DID NOT like this. In fact, she was so put off by it, she started vomiting everything she ate. Then stopped eating for several days altogether, no matter what I gave her. After a back and forth with the vet, I finally got her eating again with the help of anti nausea pills. It took almost three weeks to get her back to her normal self. While I'm sure it's fine for some, it really didn't work for mine. I would suggest offering it separately from your cats meal (as in a different time of day) and don't push it if your cat doesn't seem interested.

Our dogs absolutely love herrings.
They are so excited when they know they are going to get it:)
And the best thing is that it is great for their skin and coat.

SO Blessed to be able to buy NON GMO NON FARMED RAISED FISH FOR MY CATS! The commercial foods are horribly laden with UNWANTED additives....Looks so good I might try some myself! AND WHAT A GREAT PRICE!
By Kim on November 7, 2012
The cats went bonkers over this! I tried them on the mackerel and they didn't like it nearly as much as this.

Great product! I love the ground herring because it allows me to include important fish oils in my cat's nutrition that are not high in mercury like some salmon oils. What cat wouldn't love that?!
