Great for variety
By Merav on January 4, 2024
My cat has sensitive digestion and doesn't tolerate many foods, so it's hard to get variety into her diet. I'm so glad Hare Today has quail, which I give her every few days as an alternate to turkey and chicken.
My cat loves it!

I took a chance on this after reading other reviews, and ordered the 5 lb chub for my cat. She ate it with zero hesitation, and now gets very excited when it's a quail day!
Great raw meat
By chenkun on June 27, 2021
Previously I bought whole pray and pieces of quail, all my cats love and enjoy so much. Last time, I decided to buy ground meat. Not surprisingly, they absolutely love it!!!! Definitely buy more next time!!!
Outstanding

Quail is difficult for me to source but I like to keep it in the rotation of proteins. I’m so glad Hare Today offers this ground choice as I have a tiny ten pound pup who is too lazy to eat the non ground quail. The meat is fresh, clean and probably the best you’ll find.
Big hit with my cats
By Claire on June 28, 2018
My two boys are not huge fans of turkey or chicken which has made it difficult to incorporate poultry into their diet. But then I decided to order a little bit of quail even though I honestly thought they would be as uninterested as they usually are with the proven cat favorites of chicken and turkey. To my surpise, they absolutely demolished their quail! So happy to have his amazing product available to add to their rotation
A new favorite!

All 3 of our cats loooooved this quail! It was a new protein for them and they licked their plates clean. My daughter’s cat growled with protective joy as he gobbled it up! The meat, as always from HT, was fresh and high quality. Will definitely be purchasing this again!
Excellent quality

My cat Rusty loves this. Sometimes I mix it with the semi boneless dressed quail (his favorite) to keep him interested.
MY FINICKY CAT LOVES THIS!
By GINNY on February 20, 2017
It took 6 months before my 13-year-old cat would allow a morsel of raw food to touch her lips, but it was worth the wait. The ground quail is now one of her favorites.
I'm so glad Tracy offers so many options because some raw foods for my kitty I make myself using locally sourced pastured protein, mixed with HT ground organs, rabbit heads, duck necks, and more. My kitty now loves her raw options. Thanks Tracy!
Hey Mikey - you love it!
By Lisa on November 17, 2016
I think my little guy actually enjoys the quail more than the mouse - and he really liked the mouse meat! Licked his bowl clean, I only needed a pinch of a freeze dried topper. Based on his positive reaction, I decided to order more of this as well as the whole carcass ground quail, we'll see how that goes. I even got my fussy Molly, who will only eat freeze dried raw, to eat a pinch of quail, with a topper (note to self: don't give up trying to get Molly to eat homemade raw)!
This is my second order with HT aside from some samples I received a few months ago from someone. We are thrilled to have both the quail and mouse meat in our rotation. I also love that the quail is well balanced as far as bone -- no excess of bone and no need to dilute with any boneless meats, same with the mouse meat.
Purrfect.
Keep up the exceptional work Tracy, the meats are top notch. I certainly don't mind paying more for meats that are intended for raw feeders vs grocery store meats. We are happy campers. :)
Loves It

Our Abyssinian cat adores this quail. He eats every bit and seems so content and healthy.
The ground quail is his favorite.
Finally whole prey!
By Xenia on July 21, 2016
My dog won't eat whole prey with feathers or fur included so I decided to try a ground variety with feathers included. She loved it! Plus quails are small enough to where there don't seem to be a ton of feathers in the mix, so it is great to get her used to it. Feathers are great for cleaning the digestive system and add more variety to the diet, so I am glad she ate her whole portion! I recommend this product to anybody who has a dog or cat that won't eat whole prey, it seems to be a great product to get them started on it.
12 paws up for quail!
By Deborah on July 20, 2016
My cats give the quail 4 paws up! Admittedly, I mixed the quail with 50:50 with chicken organs to decrease the cost, so it might be the chicken organs they loved, too. Either way, I'm extremely pleased! As usual, Hare Today's quality is awesome!
Kittens loved this
By Lisa on April 13, 2016
I had one order of the whole ground quail with feathers in my first order. The next time I got it, it did not agree with them. So I decided to splurge on this one without the feathers and some organs eliminated. It was a huge success. I just wish there was a way to have them less expensive. We can only afford to order a couple each order. But it is nice to have a treat and different protein for my kittens from time to time.
If at first you don't succeed .....
By Patricia on August 29, 2015
When I first ordered the whole ground quail neither cats would touch it. I really wanted them to like a variety of meats. What worked for me was to put their favorite kibble, which I'm weaning them off of, in a coffee grinder and make a gravy with it. I mixed the quail with the kibble gravy and slowly decrease the amount of kibble gravy until they were only eating the quail. They still like gravy but instead of kibble, I add more water to the quail and mix well. They love the quail now.

This is great. I was really worried about the size of the bone chunks, because I don't have a grinder to make it any finer. But the chunks are nice and small, and I watched Kitty eat a couple pieces of bone with no problems at all. The grind is nice and fine, and everything mixes and soaks up the supplements really nicely. I use this with chunked turkey thighs and Dr. Pierson's recipe.

I've tried almost every type of meat Tracy offers, and while many are popular with one or more of my four pampered indoor cats (three of which were transitioned to raw as adults, and with some difficulty), this quail is the universal favorite. Every one of them invariably gobbles down every last bit like it's ambrosia. Of course they have to have expensive tastes! - but I'm just so grateful Tracy offers all these wonderful options that I'd never otherwise have access to.

My little Pomeranian has suffered from pancreatitis in the past, and perhaps because of this has become quite a "finicky" eater. He just loves the ground quail. I mix it with ground rabbit, and he is now a healthy and eager eater! Thank you for your excellent service!

Ordered this in my first round with Hare Today. After mixing with the supplement and packaging for portioned freezing, I had a bit left over. Because the kitties had not had quail before, I decided to see if they liked it. It was gone in no time. They came back looking for more.
My only wish is that it wasn't quite so expensive. That said, the producer deserves to be paid a fair price. It's not their fault that quail are so small. :)
