Nutrition and Benefits

• This food is low in Sodium.
• Good source of Vitamin B6 and Phosphorus, and a very good source of Protein, Niacin, Vitamin B12 and Selenium.
• Rabbit is all white meat, very lean (95% fat free), and low cholesterol. Furthermore, the type of fat found in rabbit meat is comparable to that in fish, in terms of the composition of the essential fatty acids. In other words, this is a very heart-friendly protein source.
• Given this product is ground whole, your pet will have the added benefit of insoluble fiber added to the diet.

Helpful Tips and Reminders

• 🐈🐕 Cats and Dogs typically do well with rabbit.
• Whole Carcass fiber has shown to be beneficial in diets, but high fiber may lead to lower amounts of pancreatic enzymes. Whole Carcass ground products should be fed with a balance of dressed proteins.
• Novel protein which can be helpful for animals with sensitivities and/or allergies.
• Adding fur to a carnivores raw diet can be beneficial in so many ways:
➡️ Again, it is a good source of fiber which aids the cleaning of the digestive tract.
➡️ When the digestive tract is clean, it can improve nutrient absorption and can support the immune system.
➡️ Fur can help eliminate worms and parasites.
➡️ Added fiber can help bulk stool and naturally assist in expressing anal glands.
• Before jumping into whole prey, make sure the raw diet is well established, ensuring a low pH, or highly acidic stomach which is important as digestive enzymes work best in an acidic environment. The acidic nature of the stomach helps to sterilize pathogens and bacteria and is important to break down bones.

Our mission includes advocating for optimal health and safe handling of raw materials. Make sure to use safe handling practices and reference our Raw Food Education pages.

    Kitties loved it!

By Alyssa on April 23, 2023

I mixed this together with the Rabbit/bone/organ and both my kitties absolutely love it! I am very happy with the quality and will definitely be ordering more when we start to run out.

Great addition to my pup's diet

By Gabriela on April 24, 2022

My dog loves this! Wish they didn't run out of it :( But will definitely order more when it becomes available again. My dog seems to prefer rabbit when it's ground up, versus when it's in whole, in chunks, or in pieces.

Whole carcass ground rabbit is awesome!

By Donna on February 26, 2022

My 14-year-old cat eats the whole carcass ground rabbit like he thinks it's the last meal he'll ever have. He loves it!
When the ground rabbit is out-of-stock, I order this whole carcass ground rabbit. It's always a hit with my little man.
I actually prefer to serve him the ground rabbit without the hair. But I am thankful that he also loves the hairy rabbit.
Thank you, Hare Today!

By Stella on January 30, 2022

I'm so grateful to have found a site that not only provides meat with the fur, but I don't have to chop it either. My dogs and cats love this. Thank you

    Great product

By Kylie on January 11, 2022

I like to buy whole carcass rabbit 5lb chubs to mix with dressed 5lb rabbit chub. I think this makes a great combo that my cats thoroughly enjoy. It's a bit too much fur for them if eating just the whole carcass but I think it's only because they don't care for fur/feathers. When mixing the two it ensures they are getting some additional fiber that they actually like eating. Great product and high quality.

    Fantastic quality!!!

By Lindsey on December 4, 2021

Like all Hare Today products, this is a 5-star. My dog loves it. My cat didn't like it at first but now eats it up enthusiastically after a few months of exposure. It's a really good product for rotational feeding and I love that the fur is included for a bit more fiber.

my cat's favorite (new to raw food)

By SHERYLL on October 18, 2021

It has been less than a month since I started my cat (who has unspecified IBD problems showing up mostly as diarrhea) on raw food, specifically from Hare Today. Started her on Boneless Ground Turkey breast, which she ate, then Ground Rabbit BMO, which she seemed to like better, then Whole Carcass Ground Rabbit, which she seemed to like BEST. Now it's hard to make her eat anything else, she hasn't really taken to anything I've introduced after the Whole Carcass Ground Rabbit. =( Since, she's eaten a bit of Ground Chicken Breast once, Ground Chicken Organs a few times, and Ground Beef BMO/Tripe (ignored it the first time, but ate under duress a few times).

I started off with 1 pound of Whole Carcass Ground Rabbit. I was fortunate to catch the sale on the first half of this month (October 2021) for the 5 pounds chub. I bought 4 packs, and now I have to make room in the freezer! I'm still experimenting with Hare Today's NUMEROUS different types of meat offerings for my cat. In the event that she's not enthusiastic about certain types of meats, I'm hoping that she likes the Whole Carcass Ground Rabbit well enough such that I can mix it up with the less favored meats so they won't go to waste. On the menu (i.e. from my latest order) for the next month or so are: Whole Ground Quail, Ground Mutton BMO, Ground Pork BMO, Ground Goat BMO, Ground Chicken BMO, Ground Salmon/Bone. Since my cat is sick intermittently, I wanted to stabilize her before doing reviews of the other stuff, even the ones she's tried before (Ground Beef BMO, Ground Turkey Thighs, Ground Chicken Breast, Ground Sardines), to give them a fair shake. But, her enthusiasm (*knock on wood*) for the Whole Carcass Ground Rabbit was enough for me to write this review after only 1 pound of the offering.

My cat is new to raw food, and I'm surprised she's take to the Whole Carcass thing so well. But note that I start/ed her off new meat types with maybe half an ounce at a time, spaced an hour or couple of hours apart. Once, she was sick and would not eat any raw food for about a week. Next time she ate the Whole Carcass (still enthusiastically), she threw it all up hours later, possibly because I didn't do the slow re-introduction and gave her ounces at a time, or possibly because she was still sick at the time. Anyway, can't hurt to take it slow when introducing new food to our furry friends.

Hare Today Response:
*Please note that Whole Carcass products such as Rabbit, Mice, Cavies and Quail should be feed with a balance of dressed proteins. Whole Carcass fiber has shown to be beneficial in feline diets, but high fiber may lead to lower amounts of pancreatic enzymes which can decline nutrient absorption.

A common mistake of many new raw feeders is to add too many new proteins at one time. When starting a new raw diet it is important to go slow and steady, adding one new protein at a time. Remember, variety is also important in terms of feeding different proteins, goal of 4-5 different proteins, over time, for max nutrition.

A variety of meats is crucial to a raw diet, more info here: https://feline-nutrition.org/answers/answers-are-exotic-meats-nutritious-or-a-novelty

    High Quality Ground for Cats

By Kristy on January 18, 2021

My 13 yo and 6 mo took to this like they'd been waiting for it their entire lives. My 8 yo is a bit less certain but is coming around. Very easy to mix with Alnutrin and portion out. This will be one part of our varied feeding rotation. Very fresh, good looking meat with a fresh odor.

    Life customer

By Patricia on October 26, 2019

This is the only protein my 22 month old Lab can eat and thrive. She was a very sick puppy and ended up with leaky gut. No more loose bowels. No more ear infections. A happy healthy pup. Also, great customer service. Never any issues. Always quick shipping and always still frozen, even during the Summer months all the way to Chattanooga. Coco Chanel and Miss Meaux Cash want to also say thank you for the extra bite from each package, as they love prep days.

    Excellent Product

By Patti on June 18, 2019

We received this product speedily and it was always frozen cold, so no worries about it thawing out on the way to us, though our home is rather close to Hare-Today.

The cats seem to really like the rabbit, and it has improved their health a great deal, especially our obese cat. Surprisingly, it also helped one of our younger cats, who is still not a year old, get over some allergies and skin irritation he seemed to have. I'd highly recommend this to anyone trying to go for a raw diet for their cats.

It's also the only place on the internet I could find rabbit, or even a healthy selection of quality meats without ridiculous fillers or omnivorous additives that cats DO NOT NEED! All those carbs hurt them and we have personally witnessed this in our family many times, from tumors, skin disorders, obesity to all sorts of things, primarily at older age. Thank you Hare-Today for giving a healthy alternative at a reasonable price.

    Absolute Favorite

By Jennifer on March 29, 2019

This was the first thing I gave my cats to try when I started the transition to raw. They love it and I love that it’s 80/10/10. I can feed this as a meal if I’m in a rush. I also like to add it to my recipe every couple of weeks. I wish I could give it 100 stars.

Note from Hare Today: Whole Carcass fiber can sometime cause difficulties, especially when transitioning, for some. More information here: https://hare-today.com/raw_food_for_cats

    My kiddos love the rabbit

By Amy on March 11, 2019

My 3 kiddos love the ground whole carcass rabbit. Jax gets so excited when he smells rabbit and his eyes grow wide. Sieger and Madison also love the rabbit, Jax has the most expressive face though lol. Product arrived very well packed and still frozen.

    A staple in our household.

By Jackie on February 10, 2019

This is the first time our dogs have ever had anything with fur, and it was a success! Love that we can incorporate some variety in their diets, thanks HT!

Good for Cats in Small Amounts

By autumn on January 13, 2019

My cats like this and don't usually have trouble digesting this, though my male with his sensitive stomach vomits on it occasionally, as I mix it with 14 lbs. worth of other meat before feeding to them. So I find it to be good just in small amounts especially for cats otherwise the fur can be a bit overwhelming for them.

    The best!

By Renee on November 10, 2018

I love feeding the ground whole carcass rabbit to my 8 year old dog. I know its the best quality and with the added fur helps him with digestion. It's difficult to get the whole carcass of any animal and this makes it so nice and easy. Thanks for offering this product.

    Cats approved!

By Joshua on September 9, 2018

We were a bit leery of the fur at first and whether our older, pickier cat (grew up on kibble & canned food) would even eat the food. To our surprise she actually dived in quicker than our younger garbage disposal cat who has been raised on raw food (chicken). Temporarily we are using the Ground Whole Carcass without fur until we can figure out the dilution and ratios due to one of the cats vomiting up the fur. Outside the little bit of puke both cats love this product and seem very healthy on it.

    Perfect for travel!

By Megan on July 10, 2018

We recently bought some ground whole rabbit for the whole gang to have while we traveled. It stored easier in our cooler than larger cuts, specific organs and whole prey. Everyone loved it. It will also be our backup for petsitters, since most prefer not to handle the larger cuts/whole prey we usually feed. Awesome/convenient product!

    Hairball Free!

By Randall on June 27, 2018

My cats LOVE this and as an added bonus, their poop doesn't smell and they very rarely-if ever-have hairballs. We sometimes supplement with dry food if we are busy or having other people watch them, but they always prefer this hands down. Thanks for such a great product!

    A new favorite!

By Jennifer on May 20, 2018

Tried the whole ground rabbit for our 3 cats for the first time. I had been ordering the boneless ground rabbit, but I now prefer this for our cats. Not only is it more economical, but I appreciate being able to give them the whole rabbit with all of its benefits. The bone ratio is great for cats and the meat is not overly hairy at all. A new favorite for our usual order!

    Huge hit!

By Destiny on May 13, 2018

All of my animals love this. Poo is perfect with the addition of the fur in this product. No issues at all.

    Hard to digest

By Marina on April 10, 2018

My cat could not handle the whole ground rabbit. He loved the taste and ate it gladly, but it caused vomiting. I introduced it in smaller amounts, but even after he seemed to get used to it, I would find a big glob of rabbit fur that he had vomited up. It also caused digestive distress. I'm going to have to give away the rest of what I ordered.

RESPONSE HARE TODAY: Remember, Cats need a low pH, highly acidic stomach, to properly digest their food. If transiting from kibble or mixing other low in meat proteins, carbohydrates, etc. the stomach's pH will rise, meaning low acid and vomiting can occur.
Also, always feel free to reach out to us if you have a concern we are happy to help.

My favorite! And the dog likes it, too.

By Naomi on February 18, 2018

Rabbit is my favorite meal to feed. It is low fat, soft and easy to mix with my dog's medications, and the cheapest meat I buy from Hare Today. Like all of Hare Today's products, it is of high quality. This will remain a staple of my girl's diet for years to come!!

    My cats LOVE this!!

By Maria on January 28, 2018

Out of all the different raw foods I feed my cats, they love the rabbit the best. All 5 cats devour their meal in about 1 minute. Even my pickiest eater!

    A go-to on prep day

By Sarah on November 29, 2017

I buy the 5 lb packages for prepping meals at home and the 1 lb packages to take on the road when we're traveling for trials. Both dogs love rabbit and the ground whole rabbit is a perfect, easy, complete meal. The 1 lb size is perfect when we're staying in hotels. I don't know if it's practical, but I'd love this in a 10 or 20 lb size, too. I use at least that much every month.

    Great for cats

By Ya on September 8, 2017

I've been feeding my cats the rabbit with fur for the last 6 months and I'm very happy with the results. I mix the ground rabbit with chicken thigh chunks and supplements based on Dr. Pierson's recipe at catinfo.org. My cats always devour their food and are very healthy. I feed them twice a day and they always look forward to their meal. They are muscular, have shiny fur and very active. The poop is dry and crumbly with very little odor.
I stock up on the ground rabbit with fur every couple of months because it saves meal prep time. I used to buy whole rabbits and had to use heavy cleavers to chop them into small pieces. With ground rabbit, I only need to chop up 3 pounds of chicken thigh and mix with 6 pounds of ground rabbit, so it takes about one hour to make two weeks' worth of food for my 2 cats.

    LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!!

By Laurie on August 5, 2017

We just rescued a 12 year old doberman and she loves this whole carcass rabbit. Honestly, I cannot even tell you she is tasting it as she devours the rabbit first no matter what else is in her bowl. Bells came off kibble and canned and went on to raw with no looking back. Not to get to to in-depth here but she had horrible arthritis, serious mobility issues, problems with her skin, and and produced yellow, soft serve poop when we first got here. The color was alarming. Within a few days of Hare Today food, including this whole carcass rabbit, she was going normally again with color and texture. A few weeks in and her skin cleared up, her coat is gorgeous, and she just trotted from the courtyard into the house. We cannot wait to see what she looks like 6 months from now. Tracy - God Bless you and your company. You are providing the best "medicine" out there.

    My dogs new favorite protein

By Karen on May 20, 2017

I was hesitant about ordering the whole ground rabbit with fur, mainly because I was picturing a dark ball of fur, but was pleasantly surprised to see all the fresh bright pink rabbit meat with tiny flecks of fur mixed in. My dog loved the ground rabbit without fur, but she inhaled the ground rabbit with fur, and then she licked and licked and licked her bowl, walked away and came back to lick it again. I think this is now her new favorite. I also wanted to say that the communication is excellent when you place an order. You receive an email letting you know what to expect and when shipping is going to take place. My package arrived in two days, was well packed and completely frozen.

    A kitty favorite!

By Doris on May 18, 2017

The cats absolutely adore this whole-carcass rabbit grind! Like some of the other reviewers, I was also pleasantly surprised that the fur in the grind doesn't look gross. ;)

The meat/bone/organ ratio of this product is perfect for cats, making it a bit easier to use since you don't need to dilute the bone content or add organs. You just need to mix in supplements! I add water, eggs, vitamins B & E, taurine, and a source of vitamin D & Omega 3 fatty acids.

    Perfect food!

By Sarah on May 12, 2017

I LOVE that this grind has the fur included! I think one of the main issues with raw feeding is lack of fiber and this totally solves that problem. My Labrador didn't think twice about inhaling this but my little dog was very confused about the texture. She will eat it but only if I mix some tripe in with it. Thank you Tracy for offering a product with fur!!!

    Fresh, Smooth, Tasty!

By Akiko on March 30, 2017

Received our first frozen order today - beautifully packaged, everything was rock frozen. I am vegetarian so ground meat is huge convenience - much less stressful. Made very first food following Dr. Pierson's recipe. My two novice raw eaters (still in process of transition) ate them :-) I am so excited.

Also I am so glad you are listing meat/bone/organ ratio for your product info page, which makes my life easier (no guess work).

Thank you very much for helping us to transitioning to better diet!

    Perfect For The Mix

By Alice on March 18, 2017

Feeding raw has changed my IBS cat's life. He has been almost miraculously symptom free since switching to raw and is a beautiful happy, healthy cat. Tracy has made feeding raw a lot less stressful for me with her attentiveness to customer care and her quality, consistent products and service. I added in this whole ground carcass to the mix of ground bone in rabbit and the boys devour it! I thought they'd take issue with the hair but they could care less. It's all delicious rabbit to them! Great product!

    Hands down favorite

By Maureen on February 22, 2017

I never meant to order the rabbit, hair and all. I usually just ordered bone in ground rabbit. A couple years ago I clicked on the wrong rabbit and this is what I got. I didn't think the cats would eat it. Boy was I wrong. The 3 of them were overcome with desire for this rabbit and it has since become a staple in their diet. They love it so much I have to remove all 3 from the kitchen when I am serving it up or they are scrambling on the counter to try to get to it which has resulted in a few broken dishes. It is great to know I am giving such a nutritious product and at a very good price.

    feline favorite

By Angela M on February 8, 2017

Very popular with kitts and not at all gross; or no grosser than any ground meat. Little flecks of gray fur is all you'll see mixed into the handsome ground meat. Keep an eye out---I've got one that will try to make off with the frozen chunk and gnaw on it!

    Kitty loves 'em

By Jessica on February 6, 2017

I was weary of ordering this at first, but that's due to human gross factor....I was worried it would be furry. But it's just ground meat and bones and little flecks of some dark colored stuff...didn't gross me out at all!
Kitty loved it, he does leave 2 or 3 bone bits in his dish when he's done like a bunny nail, or tooth looking bone. Meat quality was great! Definitely on the order every month list!

    Yummy bunny

By Nicole on January 31, 2017

Got this as suggested by all the reviews and Tracy. He loved it. I'm glad because I spent 4 hours in my very small kitchen mixing it all up but I'm about to get really busy w work, so better to have it done.
Mixed it with Alnutrin, but I did not add extra meat to it. I will be doing so when it's rabbit time in the feeding order. I feel like it may be too little muscle meat. JuSt a thought. It definitely won him over!

    My Collie Loves Rabbit

By Kolby on November 14, 2016

My collie loves the whole carcass ground rabbit. I was not sure how feeding the whole carcass ground rabbit to her would go, but I had nothing to worry about. She happily eats it and experiences no negative digestive effects. I appreciate knowing that I am giving her a balanced product.

    A Favorite Among Felines

By Plamena on October 2, 2016

What is it about whole ground rabbit that drives cats wild? I can't speak for them, but I know why it drives me wild: it's already the perfect ratio of meat/bone/and organ that nature intended for cats. That means it saves me time when preparing meals for my two kittens. It's a great quality grind that's not too watery out of the bag (read: easy clean-up).

They love this stuff. Will order again and again!!

    My German Shepherd Loves Rabbit

By Leanne on September 19, 2016

My german shepherd has severe allergies. I am working holistically to cure her allergies so in the mean time I cannot feed her beef or chicken since she registered as sensitive to them. I love this whole carcass rabbit. I know she is getting all the vitamins and minerals needed. Simply just the perfect primal meal! The price is great also! This is always in her rotation of meals.

Great for my sensitive Bull Terrier!

By Cristina on September 19, 2016

My English Bull Terrier, Delilah, cannot tolerate poultry so I purchased this rabbit to put in her rotation. She handled it very well. The quality is great and the meat looks and smell fresh. My order took two days to get here and arrived completely frozen! Plenty of dry ice in the box. Finally a company who puts enough dry ice! I have 5 dogs, all on a Raw Diet. We go through A LOT of food and have tried a few different companies (with great disappointment) and I have to say, I think we finally found our company!

    Cat Food

By Joseph on August 5, 2016

Cats love this. When used with Alnutrin supplement powder and Salmon Oil it makes a great base for a feline raw diet.

    They LOVE this.

By Lesa on June 26, 2016

My two cats absolutely love this. The first time I set it down, they sniffed it and timidly ate it. But after a couple bites they realized how good it was, and now they can barely wait until I get it out of the bag and onto their plate! Gone in less than 10 minutes. Will definitely be buying this again. :)

Unsure at first; now a favorite

By Alexander on June 5, 2016

I am a vegan myself; feeding raw meat is the healthiest option for my dog and she is worth it! I do pray for each and every animal my dog consumes; I am (far) too squeamish to feed her whole mammals; but this ground whole carcass rabbit 5 pound fine ground is equally as nutritious!
At first my dog was unsure about the smell; now it's one of her favorite options!

first food with fur for my pups

By Ryan on May 17, 2016

The first time they were a little confused, each time after they destroyed it. Definitely going to keep coming back for more of this!

    My cats love this

By Molly on May 10, 2016

My cats love this ground rabbit, even more than the rabbit without the fur. I have also tried rotating their proteins, and I can't get them to eat "chunks" unless I cut them up into tiny bites, so I just decided to stick with ground.
I have 5 cats, and they all gobble this up. They also like the ground rabbit that is not the whole carcass, but I noticed a difference, that they wanted to eat more, with the whole carcass rabbit.
They are not as fond of the ground chicken and the other proteins, but love this. I add tons of water and they still eat it, so I know they are staying well hydrated.
Thank you! Love the discount for the 5 pound packages.

    Absolute Favorite!

By Kim on May 1, 2016

Our little whippet mix will eat anything raw but the rabbit is her absolute favorite. Someday I'll have to try to video and submit her little "din din dancing feet" as she waits for her dish to be set in front of her.

I like the 5 pound roles, they're easy to cut through the grid lines on the packaging to measure out portions.

I really appreciate a company like Hare Today Gone Tomorrow that cares about a quality product and good customer service.

    Main protein for my cats

By Morgan on April 16, 2016

They love rabbit and will eat through the packaging to get to the contents.
I normally mix my proteins and add supplements (Taurine and Fish oil)
What could make this better is if it were even coarser ground or there was an option for it. I don't mind chunks and nor do my cats.

Response from Hare Today: We offer a course grind as well as bone in chunks.

    My Cat's Very Favorite

By Brigitta on April 2, 2016

I make sure my cat gets a good variety of protein sources, but if he had his way, he would only ever eat rabbit. When I first ordered this, I was a little bit worried that he'd be put off by the fur and bits of tooth and claw (cuz yes, those are things you can see in this grind), but he scarfed it down so fast, I didn't worry for long. This will always be part of my orders!

    Furry Ground Rabbit

By Sandy on March 23, 2016

Yep...it's course ground! Yep...you can actually see a bit of fuzzy stuff in the meat! And YEP...my girl LOVES it!!!

My little 10 pound pup thinks she's a mighty huntress and scarfs this down before I can turn around! Happy, healthy and full of life...the way a dog should be!

So much FUN ordering different protein sources from Hare Today and Tracey...so glad I found you. (Boo's totally thrilled about the whole situation as well!)

Main protein source for my cats

By Danielle on March 5, 2016

Rabbit is their one true love. Whether it's fine ground, coarse ground, fur and all, pieces, etc. they do not care! I will add this to my cart every once in awhile and they gladly eat it every time. The only thing I have to say that is negative about rabbit is with cats you need to either add hearts to a meal or get the taurine powder.

    Another favorite with the cats

By April on March 3, 2016

This has worked out well. The meat/bone/organ ratio is good. It seems a bit dry, so I add a little water and some fish oil. Sometimes I'll mix in a little ground chicken or ground organs. It's probably the fur that makes it seem dry. It's not as much fur as the cavies, and it has been readily eaten by all the kitties.

My Dogs absolutely LOVE this stuff

By Brad on February 23, 2016

I have an Olde English Buldogge and a Boerboel. Both have been raw fed Hare Today since they were 8 weeks old. They both love this product and the quality shows in their coats as well as their health.

    A hit

By Lisa on February 21, 2016

Definitely a hit with the dogs and the cat! I was a bit worried about the fur but it was no big deal.

    This is a favorite....

By debbi on January 14, 2016

Ground rabbit is my golden retrievers favorite food. She knows when I remove it from the freezer that that's what she will be getting for her next couple meals. She does very well on it and her stools are always perfect and it gives her has very good energy.

    Our cats LOVED this

By Nicola on December 28, 2015

I was hesitant just becuase of the fur but this is definitely a favorite! Thank you!

    Great Price

By Yee on December 15, 2015

I like the pricing of this raw ground. It's 80/10/10 so it makes things quite easier too. I was surprised when my furry friends liked the fur ! It was a win. I have to recommend this to my friends!

    AMAZING

By Joni on December 12, 2015

When I first saw this on here I was so excited! I'm in Michigan so rabbit and deer hunting are a big thing. I have a beagle mix that of course like many beagles loves rabbit! They eat rabbit feet every once in a while and go nuts over that. So rabbit is for sure an all time favorite with my bunch. I love that this is the entire rabbit carcass with FUR! Some people I have seen are turned off by the fur but there is no need to be. It is really great for your pooches and most will tend to love it.

    Cats love the rabbit!

By Jennifer on November 8, 2015

Our 2 cats love the rabbit. They dive in fur and all. They are very picky and they choose the rabbit over many other meats. We mix the ground rabbit with the rabbit pieces so that they have to chew. It is so satisfying to hear them crunch on the skulls and lap up the organs. I am so grateful that such great healthy food is available from Hare Today. Order it up, shipped to the door, whip up the recipe and viola = 2 healthy happy cats!

    ground rabbit

By Ruthann on October 25, 2015

Our one dog is on a very special diet. The ground rabbit with carcass and fur is her favorite.
I am happy when she is happy:) I am so glad I can buy this product here.

    Whole Carcass Rabbit - Fantastic

By denise on October 8, 2015

This site is a gift as a source for those who need nontraditional protein. My Yorkie is allergic to everything, environmental, chemical, food (all the staples). He really likes rabbit BUT he really LOVES the WC Rabbit and thinks it is candy! And very health for him in its nutrient and fiber mix; closest thing to whole prey I have tried for him. Tracy keep up the fantastic work!

    Four paws up!

By Catherine on October 3, 2015

The Hare Today whole carcass ground rabbit is easily my cats' favorite food. I love that it's the next best thing to feeding whole prey, and at a very affordable price too. This has been a dietary staple for my cats for the past year. Of note, if you're worried about this contributing to hairballs: I suspect that quite the opposite is true. My cats are long haired and they have never once had a hairball.

    have been purchasing ground

By Bonnie on September 29, 2015

Have been purchasing ground rabbit for my 2 Maine coons now for 2 yrs. suggested by my vet..they love it and i love knowing they are eating healthy and are very healthy because of it..It has helped my 1 girl from stomach problems..thank you!!

    One of the Cats favorite

By Chelsey on September 29, 2015

Out of the different ones if tried this is one of the cats favorite besides chicken. They won't try the rabbit with out the fur.

    Ground rabbit fur and all

By Lynn on September 26, 2015

This is my two cats favorite food. When I'm preparing their meal they get really excited and begin meowing. When I pick up their bowls to give them their rabbit they stand on their hind feet and tuck into their rabbit when I put it down for them :)

    A Feline Favorite!

By catseatingmeat on September 21, 2015

Love that it's whole carcass -- includes the fur, and all the offal! Great price for the quality as well -- remember, rabbit is considered a novel protein! Definitely a main staple for my trio. If you're curious, the ground whole carcass rabbit is less hairy than the ground whole carcass cavies. Thank you Tracy for listing the bone percentage!

    I mix this 50/50 with the fur-less ground rabbit/meat/organ

By Martha on September 10, 2015

I have 2 cats that are used to ground rabbit. They weren't used to the fur. When I offered them this, one of them ate it but the other one turned her nose up at it. However, I didn't give up...I mixed this with the ground rabbit meat/bone/organ and that was a hit with both cats.

I like giving them some fur because it's fiber which is good for digestive health. And it's animal fiber as opposed to plant fiber like psyllium husk. As an added benefit, this fur-and-all whole carcass lowers the cost of the food.

    Cats love this!

By Tracy on September 4, 2015

I was concerned that my cats would not like this since it has the fur and all, but they absolutely love it! This has become one of my regular items to order now.

By Jennifer on June 6, 2015

Our cats love the rabbit! They will never turn their noses up to this great food. They also love the pieces of rabbit mixed in and happily chomp down the organs, meat and bones.

By Monica on May 9, 2015

The ground whole rabbit has been a true god send for our cat, Sinatra. He has IBD and is allergic to most raw and cooked proteins. He loves the taste and has been in excellent health since starting with the ground rabbit at Hare Tomorrow. We are so grateful for a food that keeps our guy healthy that we order it each month from our home in Florida.

By Lisa on April 6, 2015

I have fed my dog Charlie raw meat for years, as a treat usually once every week or so. The problem is that the selection at the grocery store, is very limited. Charlie LOVED the rabbit meat, just finished his first pound yesterday, and I like the fact that it's the whole carcass and well ground. Charlie is definitely a happy dog.

By Ellen on February 25, 2015

My cat Buddy needs to be on a limited ingredient diet for skin issues. He absolutely adores and devours the raw rabbit meals I make for him. Great product, will continue to order! Thanks.

By Jennifer on February 16, 2015

This is our cats favorite meal. We mix the 3lb. rabbit chunks in order to give them something to chew. It cleans their teeth. Thank you for such a great product!

By Ruthann on October 20, 2014

Our one dog is on a special diet. I gave this to her and she absolutely loved it!
She continued to lick her bowl after it was long gone.

By Suzanne on September 29, 2014

This is a terrific product for building muscle yet not adding too much fat for your cat. I watched my "easy keeper" and my very thin rescue pack on muscle when feeding this product. I normally wouldn't care for hair/fiber being a part of my cats' diet especially since they have IBS and are very prone to hairballs, but the hair in this product has not encouraged more hairball formation.

By Stacey on July 24, 2014

Definitely a (close) second favorite for my dog. I love that this mix is fur and all, since I worry about the absence of certain carcass parts from her diet. Great stuff!

By Sara on June 25, 2014

My cats have been eating raw for a little under a year now, primarily with chicken from the store. As a treat, I bought some of this rabbit and they went NUTS. Acted like it was the best smelling treat in the world (more than they usually do with bacon). It's been over a month on the rabbit and they still go crazy for it!

By karen on April 2, 2014

another beautiful grind from Hare-Today! my dogs love rabbit but i get extra foot stomping when i am serving this whole rabbit grind with fur. the product is very smooth and like the quail with feathers, you cannot really see the fur at all. perfect for cats and ferrets and at a good price!

i don't feed very much for veggies and starches like sweet potato or even green beans (buzz gets big eye boogers when he gets a lot) so the fur blend is a nice fibre and they have great poops! also because it is very low fat i put it in the rotation with beef and lamb which can sometimes be much higher in fat depending on the source.

i highly recommend trying this grind!

By Tysha on March 10, 2014

In two weeks, this rabbit cleared up my cat's digestive problems. And, wow, his coat is luxury soft now. Hare-today always does a fabulous job processing and shipping. I have never been disappointed! Thank you so much!

By Lynn on March 3, 2014

I continue to buy whole ground rabbit for my two cats. This is their all time favorite food and they start meowing (my little cat chorus) while I'm preparing their meal. They get so excited and it's so much fun to watch them get excited for their rabbit! If excellent was a choice I would use that.

By DEborah on January 10, 2014

My dogs love this rabbit so much. The male actually whimpers when he smells it going into his bowl. He feels the same way about your Turkey. Thank You for such a wonderful raw food that actually smells like fresh meat.

By caryn on November 14, 2013

This is currently THE ONLY thing my finicky senior 11 year old puddy will eat!!!! Thank GOD for Tracy and Hare Today!!! My kitties are healthy because of them!!!! Thank you!!!!

By Nancy on October 19, 2013

I tried this and my dogs loved it. I like the fact that it's whole animal and prepared in a way that I can feed. I love everything that I have ordered.

By selena on July 30, 2013

I was slightly concerned about the fur, but no one had a problem with it. The cats seemed to like it as well.

By Susie on May 13, 2013

The rabbit is my cats' very favorite food! We are so thankful for this almost completely organic product. We haven't found any other source for rabbit with higher farming practices, so we order from Seattle, WA. I just wish the packages didn't leak!

By Jennifer on April 29, 2013

My cats love the whole carcass rabbit - fur and all! They eat it all up and will eat up to 3x/day if I serve it. They will eat no other meat with as much gusto. Thank you Hare today!!! I am grateful for such good quality that you provide.

By Jennifer on April 29, 2013

My cats can't get enough rabbit. I try to vary their diet, but when rabbit is served they dive right in and gobble it all up! They especially like the rabbit with the fur. We can avoid adding psyllium to the recipe when the fur is included.

By LaHoma on March 23, 2013

My kitties love this; it is one of their favorites. :) They always get excited if I ask them if they want bunny rabbits for breakfast.

By Breeze on March 19, 2013

I purchased this for my cat, and mixed it with some ground boneless turkey, to increase the fat content, and she inhales it. This was her first time eating raw meat so I was nervous about the transition period but it was nonexistent. Obviously it is very good quality. Also, it was ground nicely.

By Lyn on March 5, 2013

My only regret is that I don't live just down the street from Hare Today!!!!! Charlie loves the ground rabbit with fur and all! It is hard to tell him he has already had enough when he cuts his big ol' brown eyes at me with a woeful, I haven't eaten in days look and I know he just finished his dinner!!!! I always have to give him a rabbit ear when he finishes his dinner just to get his mind off getting anything else in his bowl!!!!

By Kathy on February 24, 2013

My cats love the whole carcass rabbit. Actually, they love all your raw foods I have tried, but the 'fur and all' rabbit is definitely their favorite!

By Anne on February 16, 2013

This is a great product, and a great value. We had been feeding another brand of raw for a while, and the rabbit was SO expensive! Finding the rabbit options at Hare Today are what made us switch! The whole carcass rabbit is a great option. Both of our cats really enjoy it. A tip for when you are mixing and portioning, it can hold quite a bit more water than the other meats, I am assuming because of the fur. Where other meats seem to release a lot of liquid after thawing in the fridge, the whole carcass rabbit stays very dry. We often mix a little extra water in right before feeding for one of our cats who has never been a good drinker. Great product, and I would highly recommend it!

By Barbara on November 27, 2012

I'm so grateful for the opportunity to feed my indoor cats a whole-animal diet, and this product really makes it easy for me. I have a grinder which I use for hearts, liver, etc, but I can't imagine the mess of producing this product in my kitchen. Thank you. Our cats just radiate health, and everyone raves about their fur and vitality.

By Aminda on September 30, 2012

All my guys (3 dogs, 4 cats, 5 foster cats and 2 ferrets) LOVE this! One of my cats is so gonzo for it he didn't bother to wait for me to open the package and ripped into it himself when I left it out during meal preps. All my guys have been thriving on their raw diet and it is so much fun to see them all get so ecstatic about their food. It also feels good knowing they are eating what they were built to eat! Their teeth look great and all have tons of energy and glossy coats.

By Nicole on September 29, 2012

I bought this product for my F1 Bengal kitten Marcus and he loves it!! I mixed it with ground chicken and turkey and he can't get enough of this.

His coat is shiny and is energy level is though the roof! He had no problem at all eating the mixture and he licks the bowl clean. I make then into meatballs and he goes crazy over them.

The product came in professionally packaged and it smelled great. This product will forever be a part of my kitten's meal.

By Dianne on September 13, 2012

I bought this for my young dachshund girl who had been lost for 6 days and kept herself alive for 6 days til we found her. Her tastes have changed and she prefers more texture to get food and loves one in so we tried this with her. She enjoyed it and seemed to notice the fur was included because she gave it a good chewing instead of snarfing it down. Def recommend for any dachshund...this is their natural prey!

By maryon on September 9, 2012

My cats, all six, love this. It seems to be the one food they can all agree on. Two of the cats have sensitive stomachs, and can have a hard time with chicken or turkey. However the rabbit is always well tolerated!

By Shakti on August 23, 2012

The whole carcass rabbit is the best thing I have ever fed my dog! I have an 80 lb Florida Brown Dog what has multiple food and environmental allergies which were causing him so much discomfort, he was losing the hair around his face and scratching himself bloody. My vet suggested rabbit as a cooling food that was easy for sensitive animals to assimilate. I fed him exclusively the whole carcass rabbit over a six month period and not only did his allergies clear up but his coat was glossy like it had never been his breath became sweet like a puppies.
It was a truly amazing transformation.

By LaHoma on June 12, 2012

All four of my cats love this as well as any of the other rabbit products. It is a good alternative for cats who don't know what to do with whole prey.

By Mira on June 4, 2012

This is one of the two foods that my cats will go insane for. All they have to do is catch a whiff of it and you can here them compete for loudest meows :) In addition to their stand up reviews, I also love feeding this to them because it just seems to make them have more energy and a better general appearance.

By Erica on May 16, 2012

My two kittens (9 months old) LOVE the whole ground rabbit. They loved it from the moment I set it down for them. At first they were overly protective of their dishes if the whole ground rabbit was in it, but they've since mellowed and stopped growling now that they realize it's a regular thing in their diet. Some of the other raw foods they've had to warm up to, but this was a winner from the start. They are sweet tempered, happy, healthy, lively, and their fur looks great! Highly recommend the whole carcass ground rabbit with fur. From the people perspective, it's not bad at all to work with (no weird smells, hamburger texture, soaks up any liquid you add to it.)

Started making food for my 2 cats with Hare Today because of food in-tolerances... the meat is high quality, and it must be great tasting because my boys adapted very quickly to it! Super fast shipping, great products, great service!

By Laura on April 10, 2012

My 9 year old cat ADORES this whole carcass ground rabbit. I purchase it to feed my dogs, along with other proteins from Hare Today...but the cat knows when I pull the ground rabbit out of the fridge. She's standing right there with my dogs when I dish it out. She processes it quite well (for being a non raw-fed pet) and coos at me continuously after she's finished. She will turn her nose up at other raw purchases including fish, beef and pork, and she doesn't like the ground rabbit as much as the whole carcass rabbit - although both excite her. When I need to give her a medicine for a temporary issue I always purchase some of this whole carcass ground rabbit if I don't have any around. I can hide just about anything in it and the texture disguises it well enough.

Both my dogs (one high-energy picky E. setter and a low-energy mix) gobble this up as well and its great to have in a rotation that focuses primarily on cheap and easily attainable ground heart. Its great for maintaining weight and a hearty coat. Also, it generally is just a lot cleaner to defrost and portion up as the hair sort of keeps it from sticking to the plastic it comes in and also keeps it from getting runny with liquid from the defrosting meat. Overall one of my favorite products Tracy offers and well worth keeping in your raw-feeding regime.

By Catharine on April 9, 2012

I use Hare Today Gone Tomorrow to make raw cat for food my 2 cats according to the catnutrition.org recipe. The ground rabbit is a favorite of both cats, by far! And, having it ground already saves me some time by not having to run in through the grinder. This is my #1 favorite product.

By Jennifer on February 26, 2012

One of my cats is picky about what meat he eats, he loves the rabbit though. It is a quick mix for me when it comes in and reduces my time to make their food. Awesome product!

By Traci on February 25, 2012

My 5 month old Maine Coon kittens love this. I'm a first time raw feeder. The breeder started them on raw from hare-today and all her cats seemed very healthy (and my older traditional fed cat ... not so healthy), so I gave it a shot. These ground products make it very easy to feed raw, just what I need. The kittens seem to prefer the rabbit, but I also feed ground turkey/chicken/bones for variety.

By James on February 24, 2012

I tried the goat, pheasant, whole quail, quail, whole rabbit, and rabbit. The kids liked this whole rabbit the most by a wide margin. Hard to get them to eat basic chicken, turkey, and lamb after. :)

By stephanie on February 16, 2012

The rabbit arrived today and was still completely frozen. I couldn't wait for the thaw to try it so I warmed some in water. My Siberians LOVE it. They have eaten rabbit before but not the whole ground rabbit. They like this much better. It even got one of my cats eating raw that looked at me like I was crazy before if I even tried to give him something raw. And he was very vocal as well towards his hatred of raw meat. But not today he just couldn't resist. And another cat I have has to eat alone. Well not with this. Thank you. I will be ordering again.

By Heather on February 9, 2012

By far this is the product my cats love best! I love the fact that they are getting the whole animal here for maximum nutrition.

By Michael on January 31, 2012

I know it might sound strange to most people, feeding the whole rabbit including fur, but my dogs gobble this up like crazy! At first, my smaller/younger dog was a little hesitant, but it didn't take her long to get used to it. I've had no problems with digestion and it's definitely on my list when I order.

By Jennifer on January 31, 2012

My two cats love and thrive on the Ground Rabbit, Whole Carcass-Fur and All. They gobble it up and dash around the house with more energy than I have. Their fur is glossy beautiful and their health is strong. I highly recommend the rabbit.

By Tiffany on October 28, 2009

I have six lovely rescued cats who are now all eating a raw diet. After years of frequent vomitting and other stomach issues, each and every one of my babies is eating well and not throwing it back up. Even my sensitive stomach kitty has come around! My cats love the ground rabbit and have no problem gnawing away at the bones. Now they lick their bowls clean and beg for more! Yes it is more expensive, but calculate in the reduced cost of paper towels, cleansers, laundry detergent, and energy bills for cleaning on a daily basis (not to mention the peace of mind in knowing that you're not going to step in puke).... and I think you will find it is well worth it.

By Wendy on May 27, 2009

I wasn't sure my 13 yr old whippet would eat this with the hair, he's pretty picky. He loves it! He has yet to turn his nose up at it.

By Jessica on April 15, 2009

My cat loves the Whole carcass ground rabbit. I wasn't sure if he would like it or not because he is so picky. I tried a commercial raw ground rabbit food and I just couldn't get him to eat it. So when I stocked up on duck I ordered some rabbit too just to try. Well, I let him try some rabbit after only feeding him a couple pounds of the duck, big mistake. Now he doesn't want to eat the duck anymore because he loves the rabbit so much. Good thing my other cat likes the duck.

THANK YOU, Hare Today! My cat had IBD. He lost weight, had a poor haircoat, was depressed, etc. Vet found nothing wrong but I KNEW he wasn't right. Tried several canned and kibbled \"high quality\" foods, but he wasn't eating well and kept doing poorly. When I switched to raw he improved almost overnight! He gets Hare Today whole ground rabbit and whole ground chicken, with fish oil added and a little taurine. And within a month he was back to his normal weight, his coat was soft and fluffy, and best of all, his great personality is back! All my critters are now on raw.

I really appreciate the great service you offer. And even WITH shipping, I'm saving money over buying this stuff locally!

My husband found Henry in a local hardware store. He was lost or had been abandoned and was barely 3 weeks old. We fed him from an eyedropper until I felt he could be weaned and then we started him on a raw food diet. He is thriving and after two years looks the picture of health. He much prefers the whole carcass rabbit. He turns his nose up at just about everything else. But this he almost inhales - he just loves it. I can't imagine giving him anything else.

My two six-month-old kittens are going through a fussy eating stage, so I wasn't sure how they would react to this, their first whole carcass food. But I like to try new things, so I decided they should try something new as well.

Definitely a smart move. They absolutely loved it. The two of them immediately inhaled the 1 cup serving I had defrosted for them, and then stood up and pawed at my legs, the kitchen cabinets, etc., looking for more. I haven't decided whether I am going to feed this INSTEAD OF the coarse ground rabbit (the one without the fur, which they also love) or IN ADDITION TO it, but whole carcass ground rabbit is definitely going to be in their diets from now on.

Another winner from Tracy!

After several months of raw feeding my dogs I had found less success at getting my cats to take to the change as well. I ordered the whole carcass ground rabbit to give my dogs a taste for it; however, it was my cats who ended up consuming most of it. I scooped the ground rabbit into a bowl and turned my back for just a second only to turn back around to both cats gobbiling it greedily! Ever since then they've been happily eating their ground rabbit every night.
This rabbit is ground very fine and there were no visible bones. You can tell great care went into ensuring the product was carefully prepared and packaged.
