Helpful Tips and Reminders

• ? Medium/large Dogs typically do well with large marrow bones, which are typically fed as recreational bones, and are not intended to be completely consumed.
• Recreational raw bones can be an excellent treat for dogs and should always be given under supervision.
• If choking is a concern, you may want to remove the marrow and feed the marrow only. Cutting or mashing can be particularly helpful for more compact animals.
• Marrow bones are GREAT for bone broth. To make Bone Broth: Boil 2 cups water to 2 Tablespoons of Bone. Strain and discard bone prior to feeding as cooked bones can splitter and should never be feed to your animals.

    Amazing!

By Brittany on January 23, 2021

I have 4 large dogs - Leonberger, Giant Schnauzer, Airedale, and an Aussie. Finding items for them to chew on, is tough. Most things that I purchase for them are gone in no time. When these bones arrived, I was amazed at the size of each one! My dogs LOVE these! I love it, that they are not smoked, as those smell bad.
Worth every penny.

    Great Chew Treat !!!

By Olivia on March 30, 2020

My two pitbulls absolutely love to chew!

They chew through most bully sticks in under 10 minutes so it’s important to provide variety to them and a long lasting chew!

And this product does the job! make sure to supervise while your pet chews on this and do not allow them to consume the entire product. It is meant to be recreational, just as it says in the description!

    Love these bones!

By Anessa on October 11, 2018

These marrow bones are amazing! I have a 2 year old lab and a 9 month GSD, both very intense chewers. When I purchase marrow bones at the local pet store, my lab will go through a marrow bone in 30 minutes and start breaking chunks off. I get the large marrow bones for hare today and they last for hours! The dogs love them! I love them because they are huge and have a decent amount of cartilage, marrow and meat on them. Give them to the pups and get a few hours of quiet time. Will definitely be buying these again and again.

Great for Yummy for Dog's Tummy Bone Broth!

By George on July 6, 2018

I love making bone broth for my dog in the hot summer months as an occasional frozen treat and these bones are fantastic for broth with that great jello like texture with so many nutrients. After 24 hours cooking in the crockpot, sometimes it can be disappointing at the consistency of the broth with store purchased bones... not at all with these bones! I can always count on these bones producing bone broth that is rich, smells great and worth giving. I try and keep at least an extra bag of these bones in the freezer at all times.

    GREAT SNACKA FOR MY DOG!!

By Bisera on March 30, 2018

I ordered the small bag first. They are a good size, in squares and very good served as snacks for my dog. The small comes with about 6-8 square pieces. I also ordered the large bag. It comes with 3 HUGE pieces. Big like half of a human head! It has some meat attached to it. One large piece lasts about a week before it becomes small.

    Great Product!

By Sarah on September 12, 2017

I had a difficult time sourcing beef marrow bones locally - so happy Tracy offers these! I used the small marrow bones to make up a bone broth for my dogs with some chicken feet. Nice, fresh product and a good size too for the price! Love em'!

Good for Small and Big Dogs!

By Esther on August 26, 2017

There's a variety of sizes that come in the bag.
I give the smaller ones to my 14lb. Boston Terrier and she's usually busy for 1.5 to 2.5 hours trying to get the buttery goodness marrow our of the middle of the bone. Move over Kongs! These are way better.

I also walk and sit for bigger dogs that are 36 to 60 pounds, and I give them the bigger bones. They're perfect for when I need a break from them; to water the garden or something. The bigger ones also keeps the big dogs busy for 2 hours. The bigger doges can bite through the outer bones. I have a Golden Retriever I walk that has ground her huge bone marrow to a nugget after two days.
I do notice my dog's teeth are getting shinier. Thanks HT!

    Keeps em" busy!

By Amy on August 12, 2017

My four dogs love these marrow bones. They are great for hot humid Georgia days when Mom needs a break. I give one to each dog and they go to work on the bones for at least 2 hours, chewing, licking, & digging for the delicious marrow inside. Thanks for supplying these great bones Hare Today staff and for keeping my dog's teeth nice and clean.

    Wow!

By Katrina on March 2, 2017

Just started my kitten on raw food and although my Rhodesian Ridgebacks have always had raw marrow bones, I gave them raw beef knuckles for the first time and they chomped on them for 4 hours! Needless to say, they are happy, tired pups! Which makes me a happy owner :)

    small marrow bones

By Angela M on February 17, 2017

Compared with the same size marrow bones sold at my grocery store these are absolute gems. And they cost the same or less. A variety of sizes, but in two bags just one that was rather out sized, just in surface area not thickness, so, really, something that can be worked at.

    Big quality, big size

By Kristin on January 3, 2017

Ordered these for a friend's dog I was hosting while they were on vacation, unfortunately she was used to smaller raw bones and didn't bite (pun intended) but our neighbor's dog loved them. There were 2 in the large pack I ordered, both more meaty and larger than I expected but my own error - very much as described. Great value compared to local chain and indie pet stores, the neighbor said it kept her dog very busy and content during some serious cold weather when long walks or trips to the park weren't easy.

    Small beef marrow bones

By Sharla on June 15, 2016

I ordered these because you can't beat the price. Even with shipping they are more cost effective then buying a package of frozen bones from my local pet store. The bones aren't all completely uniform in size but I don't mind that as some days I want my dog to have a long chewing snack and other days a quick small bone works well. Great for a jaw workout and teeth scrubber.

    beef marrow/knuckle bones--large

By ambinals on October 21, 2015

I love when bones are large enough give our dog a long time with her bone. Her favorites are the bones that have some meat to tear off.

    Large Marrow Bones

By Brandyn on September 15, 2015

I picked these up during my last order and they are great! We have four in our pack and they all agree that these are by far their preferred RMB. A couple of our guys are pretty aggressive chewers but these marrow bones lasted well over an hour. Picking some more up right now with this order and thought I'd share my experience - try them, you wont regret it :)

These are very large and great for recreational. Also great when you just need to feed your dog a very light meal on a very slow day and they had a lot recently. Sometimes tossing them a marrow bone for a few hours helps out because my food loving dog does not realize that she just mist a meal that she did not need. LOL. She definitely is not starving. She loves eating and loves her raw diet the variety of food we get from here.

By Deborah on March 11, 2014

I call these "doggie pacifiers." Great distraction and entertainment for my 2 exuberant labs! They seem to yummy even after the meat and marrow have been chewed off.

By Matthew on May 16, 2013

These are huge and keep my boy occupied while I work during the day. He is an average chewer, and these usually last two weeks or so. They are HUGE!

By Bea on March 18, 2012

What a great product. I used to buy the marrow bones from our local stores, but they did not smell fresh and after cooking there was almost no marrow in them. Most likely from unhealthy animals, from not so humane sources.
Hare-today's beef bones are different - filled with marrow, the color is just right and I don't have to open all windows when I boil them for my dogs. One time I had them mixed in the pot (ones from Hare-today and some from the store) and you could easily tell which bones came from which place. Healthy bones from healthy animals and brittle, with no or very little marrow from diseased animals. It does matter where the cow came from - thumbs up for humane treatment of animals.

By Jennifer on January 25, 2012

These are great recreational bones. Even though it describes them as small, there is always a nice variety of sizes suitable for my 90 lb greyhound down to my 16 lb mix breed. The dogs love licking the marrow out of them and then chewing on them for hours.

Tracy's not kidding when she describes her Beef Marrow Bones as huge!!!! LOL Beef Marrow Bones are my dog Noelle's favorite treat, but Tracy's were just too large even for her! The irony here is that Noelle is a pit mix, and although a smaller size dog, she does indeed boast the pit jaw and teeth (believe me when I write that Noelle gets many, many compliments on her teeth!!!!). Noelle's used to the 10-12\" or so length bones from the grocery store, and while those bones do have some meat scraps still clinging to them, the main attraction is really more on getting the marrow. Tracy's Beef Marrow Bones, on the other hand, are simply chock full of meat, no scraps! Well, when I wrote Tracy about my rather unbelievable and somewhat hilarious problem, she replied that she'd be happy to cut the bones smaller for Noelle.

I definitely will write another review once Noelle receives her smaller-sized bones! But allow me to add here, please, that Tracy's Beef Marrow Bones would be **absolutely perfect** for any large or extra-large size dog! They're a real mouthful!!!! LOL

Despite Noelle's own trouble, I'm rating these bones 5 stars simply because there's just no question as to their quality.
