Nutrition and Benefits

• This food is a good source of Protein, Thiamin, Vitamin B6, Phosphorus, Zinc and Copper, and a very good source of Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B12, Pantothenic Acid, Iron and Selenium.
• Taurine is found in most animal proteins, but the highest concentration is in the brain and heart. Taurine supports brain, eye, and heart function, and helps regulate the immune system.
• Cooking and processing food will reduce the taurine content.
• A large amount of threonine can also be found in the heart, which controls protein and enzyme activity, helping to maintain proper balance of proteins in the body.

Helpful Tips and Reminders

🐕 Dogs prefer red meats, but poultry is good for rotation.
🐈 Cats typically do well with poultry.
➡️ Cats cannot produce taurine, like Dogs can. This means that taurine is essential for felines and taurine needs added in the diet as the body cannot manufacture taurine.
• Heart can be added to high bone content foods to decrease the bone ratio.

My boxer loves these and we include them in his diet regularly. Quality has always been fantastic! But I have to mention that they make absolutely perfect pill pockets, too! Just stick the pill or capsule inside one of the heart chambers and you’re good to go! Pretty neat!

My dog loves turkey hearts and these are just great and even have had the fat cut off. Personally I feed quite a bit of fat but not having fat on the hearts allows you to decide for yourself. An absolute favorite in this house. Plus I love to cut them up and dehydrate them also. They make for smelly but awesome dog treats!

I ordered these some time ago and had forgotten about them in the "big" freezer so took them out, thawed them and my dog absolutely LOVED them! My cat was meowing around the dish so I took a couple of them, cut them up in small pieces and he devoured the entire bowl! So, a win win for my dog and cat! They give this product a four paws up! Will def. order again!

I purchase turkey hearts for my two cats. I slice them thin and then dry them. I give them as treats (rehydrated) to my cats who really love them.

My cats love these, but I find them a little more labor intensive, as the tendon/tissue surrounding the hearts can get wrapped around my cats' tongues if not chopped up really well. Chicken hearts are smaller and easier to chop up without using a food processor, or just to leave whole, and seem to be just as tasty!

If we had a dog, I'd probably use these as a snack.

I have been feeding my 20 month old sheltie "Rio" raw since he was 4 months old and I am always looking to add variety of proteins to his diet.
