Nutrition and Benefits

• This food is low in Sodium. It is also a good source of Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folate, Pantothenic Acid, Phosphorus and Copper, and a very good source of Protein, Riboflavin, Vitamin B12, Iron and Zinc.
• Taurine is found in most animal proteins, but the highest concentration is in the brain and heart. Taurine supports brain, eye, and heart function, and helps regulate the immune system.
• Cooking and processing food will reduce the taurine content.
• A large amount of threonine can also be found in the heart, which controls protein and enzyme activity, helping to maintain proper balance of proteins in the body.

Helpful Tips and Reminders

? Dogs prefer red meats, but poultry is good for rotation.
? Cats typically do well with poultry.
➡️ Cats cannot produce taurine, like Dogs can. This means that taurine is essential for felines and taurine needs added in the diet as the body cannot manufacture taurine.
• Heart can be added to high bone content foods to decrease the bone ratio.

    Cats went Nuts

By Kristy on January 18, 2021

Of everything I've bought for them so far, these were the biggest hit. The meat is clearly fresh with lots of blood. Both of my adult cats and the kitten ate these quickly and licked the bowls. They are great supplements to the ground bone-in chubs to make sure the bone ratio is on spot.

    Very rich nutrients!

By Jessica on November 12, 2020

These chicken hearts are very dark and include lots of moisture. They are small and very easy to portion out and cut up with kitchen shears. I love the extra moisture to mix with alnutrin instead of using water. You can tell these chickens had a great life from these juicy hearts. My cat loves them!

    Natures Pill Pockets

By Destiny on May 13, 2018

I love using these when giving my dog her pills! Way healthier than the pill pockets at the stores

    Great for feeding chunks!

By Lesa on November 22, 2017

I didn’t think my cats would go for chunks in their meals, but cut in half, they just gobbled them down. Two out of three cats approve!

    My favorite for my cats

By Cemaliye on June 4, 2017

My cats have tried a couple different organs from hare today and have enjoyed every one so far. They loved the chicken hearts!

As for me, I enjoyed the fact that the chicken hearts are much easier to serve and less messy!

    All heart

By Maureen on May 13, 2017

I just gave my cats a few of these hearts as a treat. They loved them and begged for more. I have ordered the duck hearts in the past, the cats like them a lot too, but, I think they like these better.I had a feeling they would so I ordered 4 lbs.I will feed them as treats and, dice them up for their food to give them something to chew and a taurine boost. So glad Hare Today carries them.

    don't feel bad

By Angela M on April 16, 2017

Don't feel bad if your cats don't go for these great looking, apparently desirable lumps of tasty love----mine didn't, so you aren't alone. But don't hesitate to give them a try, because mine are little freaks!

    Once you taste it ...

By Akiko on April 4, 2017

When I put these on my kitties plate, they had no idea what to do. I sprinkled little dried salmon powder, they only licked it. Then I took up my courage and cut it in 4 pieces ( I am vegetarian), one cat ate it - and licked plate!! The other one is still hesitant, but I cannot be more happier because they are eating raw only approx. 2 weeks. They obviously know fresh good food from Hare today is good for them!

    Popcorn for dogs

By donna on March 26, 2017

My fur kids can't get enough!! Even my cats steal them from the dogs dish.

    100 stars!!

By Nicole on January 31, 2017

Just buy them. Just make sure there some left for my kitty.
I give him one a day with his meal. These are the best things for a treat also.

    Amazing!

By andres on September 26, 2016

Fantastic quality, just as pictured. My kitty loves these!!

    Hearts are the bomb!

By Deborah on July 20, 2016

I was dividing this up tonight to freeze into portions; I had no intent of feeding the hearts to my cats yet. After all, they had already had their night's meal. But I had 3 cats climbing up my legs when they smelled them, so I sliced up a few and put them down for them. Good grief, the cats went nuts for them! They licked their bowls spotless! And to think, I used to think that chicken was their least favorite food. Ha!

    Great product!

By Stephanie on September 28, 2015

These chicken hearts are great. I make raw cat food, and my cat adores these!

By Suzanne on September 29, 2014

These are a high quality product and the perfect size for my cats ranging 8 to 18 lbs. I will be purchasing these again!

By Asheen on July 6, 2014

My cats went crazy for these hearts! I wish I would've bought more. I usually cut them in half or thirds if the heart is pretty large and they chew away. I even have to stop them from stealing each other's.

By Angela on May 30, 2014

These are very high quality chicken hearts. The hearts were so different then the grocery store junk. I tried buying hearts from a grocery store once but even after washing them up they just looked pale and not very fresh. Nothing local in my area of south florida that had fresh chicken hearts so i had to look online. I found hare today from the cat nutrition site. Shipping was a little expensive because i am all the way down in florida but it is worth every cent. I order what i need for making the food then a little more to give as treats. Everything i have ordered from this site has been awesome quality. Would never go anywhere else, even if it was local.

By Clare on April 12, 2014

I dice these up into my cat's rabbit grind for a taurine boost and to give her something to chew on. Works great!

By Harriet on March 14, 2014

I use these as a treat for my cat, I have to cut them up a little because he only has two teeth but has no problem eating kidney bean size chunks of these. I have to take the plate away or he will sit there just licking the plate. Great addition to a raw diet.

By Egor on March 11, 2014

Amazing product. The chicken hearts are a perfect 'muscle' meat that you can add to the cat food. The sizes are perfect chunks that challenges the kitties not to slurp their food, and I can avoid chunking other types of meat. Cannot be easier than this!

great shipping times, always arrives frozen here in nj. fresh and great quality for home made cat food

By Shirley on February 23, 2014

Love this site. They always have products I need. The hearts are clean and well packed. Hearts are hard to find and I know Hare Today will always have them.

By Joanne on October 8, 2013

My cats love, love, love chicken hearts. I throw them in a bowl of warm water to heat them. One cat almost bites my hand off when I hand her one. Always fresh and great quality. I even bring a good soup stock to a boil, take it off the heat, and throw some chicken hearts in it to lightly cook for myself. Great source of CoQ10.

By Renee on January 18, 2013

I like to feed my dog a variety of proteins and the chicken hearts provides this for him. On the raw feeding forums that I am a member on say, "red meat" and more "red meat". But I still believe there should be a variety of different proteins. I love this website because there is so much to chose from and wonderful products. Thanks Tracy.

I LOVE this site, I have been feeding my cat raw for the last 9 months and she (like most cats) is a very picky eater. It has been a long process of trying new things and it has been difficult to find access to different types of meat in my area. This site has everything I need! I have discovered how much she loves chicken hearts and all I can find in the grocery store is the mixed chicken hearts and gizzards. The last few times I've purchased them I am lucky to find one or two hearts per package! Here I can buy 2 lbs of them and the price is so reasonable. The cost of shipping is totally worth having access to such a great selection of meats. The shipping is quick and the product is always superbly packaged and in excellent condition when it arrives. I have recently adopted a 4 year old chow mix and am excited about being able to try new things for her from this site. Thank you, Hare Today Gone Tomorrow, you have made my life so much easier!!

By Jennifer on June 26, 2012

I love that I can get hearts. I have a really hard time finding them anywhere else. These always arrive still frozen and ready for mixing in with my cat food.

By Catharine on April 9, 2012

These chicken hearts are the staple of my cat food recipe. I like that they come in neat 2lb packages. This is the best option for frozen hearts that I've found. The fact that I have them shipped to Hawaii (not cheap) should tell you how much we like them.

By Jessie on March 5, 2012

I've tried other flavors of heart, but my cats for sure like the Chicken hearts the best. Along with several other ingredients, the food I feed my cats has allowed my fat cat to loose 5# in only 2 months. This is after I tried several Science Diet diets and a few Royal Canin weight loss diets. This food is also what a cat would eat in the wild so I believe it is the most natural thing they can get. Thanks Hare Today.

By Jackie on February 14, 2012

My cat goes crazy for her chicken hearts which I use in addition to servings of ground chicken and rabbit. If I leave out the hearts she gets very upset. The customer service is great too.

By Suzanne on April 23, 2009

Thanks to catnutrition.org, I have been feeding my cats a homemade raw food diet for close to a year now. I am so very grateful to Hare Today for your amazing supply of superb quality raw pet foods, especially the chicken hearts! Thank you so much Tracy for your amazing work!

By Pat on March 15, 2009

Tracy,

Your raw Chicken hearts saved my cats life! Isolde has struggled with asthma for years and now at 17 she has the additional burden of renal insufficiency and hyperthryroidism to bear. She also suffers from chronic sinusitis. Bless her, she loves chicken hearts and decided on her own that she would eat almost nothing else. And having put her on a cooked diet as a result of the renal insufficiency I relented thinking she had little time left...let's make her happy.

Amazing transformation...emaciation and dehydration disapears. Coat no longer matts. Sinuses greatly improve. Strength returns.

So, I am ordering lots of pounds of chicken hearts today along with her raw turkey because converting her to entirely raw has brought her thin wheezing and miserable self back from the brink! She instinctively knew she needed to eat this rich taurine diet and she begs me for her raw turkey four times a day. She has gained two pounds and her breathing has greatly improved...she is a new and I might add younger cat.

She doesn't even let me completely thaw these hearts before she goes after them! Ice crystals are no impedament. I recommend your chicken hearts to all my cat clients as nutritious species appropriate 'treats' for their kitties...with Isolde's 'heartfelt' endorsement.

By Jeannine on March 16, 2008

Wonderful product. At first I purchased Tracy's ground mixed chicken organs, but I figured that with their sharp little teeth, my cats would rather have whole organs than ground up ones. Now I purchase gizzards, hearts and livers separately and feed them mixed up in relatively equal parts (although I'm thinking of increasing the liver content in the future). They are so popular they practically get inhaled. Definitely a winner.

By Allyson on March 5, 2008

These are beautiul and wonderful chicken hearts. The color is wonderful. The best part is that the two pounds is broken up into smaller portions. You don't need to thaw then portion then refreeze. it is already done for you. I was extremely pleased with everything that I ordered.

By Julie on May 13, 2006

I feed my kitties a raw food diet and Hare Today has been a god-send!

They love the ground pheasant that I use in their raw homemade food, and it gives them variety.

Also, the chicken hearts are great, too. I had been unable to source "decent" chicken hearts until I came to Hare Today.

Thanks, Tracy!

I make my own homemade raw cat food and chicken hearts are one of the main ingredients. I could not believe the difference in the hearts I ordered from Hare Today compared to the hearts I was getting in my local market. Hare Todays hearts are larger, darker in color and have much less fat on them than the store hearts. It's worth spending the few extra pennies (and I mean only pennies) by far!
