• Given this product is whole, your pet will have the added benefit of insoluble fiber added to the diet.

Helpful Tips and Reminders

• ? Typically great for medium/large breed dogs when fed as whole prey.
• Whole carcass fiber has shown to be beneficial in diets, but high fiber may lead to lower amounts of pancreatic enzymes. Whole carcass products should be fed with a balance of dressed proteins.
• Novel protein which can be helpful for animals with sensitivities and/or allergies.
• Adding fur to a carnivores raw diet can be beneficial in so many ways:
➡️ Again, it is a good source of fiber which aids the cleaning of the digestive tract.
➡️ When the digestive tract is clean, it can improve nutrient absorption and can support the immune system.
➡️ Fur can help eliminate worms and parasites.
➡️ Added fiber can help bulk stool and naturally assist in expressing anal glands.
• Before jumping into whole prey, make sure the raw diet is well established, ensuring a low pH, or highly acidic stomach which is important as digestive enzymes work best in an acidic environment. The acidic nature of the stomach helps to sterilize pathogens and bacteria and is important to break down bones.

Extra small is perfect size for my cat

By Kristine on November 23, 2023

One extra small is a perfectly balanced day of food for my cat. Beautiful quality and now that I include whole prey every day (either adult mouse, chick or rabbit), no hair balls! I love to hear Lucy happily crunching :-D

    Savannah cat ate it all

By Sandra on November 11, 2022

Very healthy-looking rabbit, makes me kinda sad bc I have had pet bunnies, but I suck it up because I have a predator for a pet. My Savannah is an f3 12lb female. She was a little confused at first from the size because she usually eats mice. She ate it all minus the stinky intestines (good times). I put the rabbit in her bowl and put a large pee pad under it for when she drags it out of the bowl and leaves entrails and ears. Other than that she gobbled it up in two days and I never felt so unloved. She is normally following me around asking for more food, she was able to graze on this bad boy and no longer needed me.

Very fresh and healthy looking rabbits

By Mareike on November 12, 2020

I've tried the small rabbits for my Labrador, and she absolutely loved them and ate them quickly and entirely in one setting. The small size seems perfect for her (she's a small Lab at 52 pounds). I was happy to see how healthy the rabbits looked. One question I have is whether the rabbits have been bled after euthanization. I was expecting the meal to be "messier", i.e. "bloodier". Will definitely buy again!

Hare Today Response:
We do not bled the rabbits after being euthanized.

Pinkie rabbit: tips on handling & use

By Susan on August 13, 2020

Sammy Cat LOVES these, helps with constipation. I leave them out for a few minutes, separate them, then wrap individually in baking parchment so each is ready to process. Then re-freeze. Cut up while still frozen-very easy to do.I pack in 4 oz freezer safe mason jars for quick and easy use. Hare Today you are a Godsend. Thank you always for very high quality everything-product, packing, shipping, pricing.

    Wow! What a treat!

By Ariel on July 17, 2020

I bought a small rabbit for my 80lb boxer as a birthday treat. He has always eaten raw but never had whole prey. The quality of the rabbit was fantastic. Very clean and perfectly intact. At first my dog was a little confused by the fur, but after parading it around the yard a bit, burying it, and digging it up again, he settled down and started to crunch through it. I was pleasantly surprised that he knew exactly what to do with it, and that I didn't need to cut it open to help him! It was completely gone within an hour. No upset stomach. Just a happy happy dog! I will definitely be purchasing rabbits from here again!

    Pinkie rabbits

By Jessica on January 11, 2020

The pinkie rabbits are really great. They are very clean, and it sounds weird to say cute looking. I appreciate the opportunity to give my cat what nature intended him to eat. His main diet is ground raw, but I'm gradually transitioning him to whole prey. I love that Hare Today offers everything! He devours his ground food in less than a minute, but the pinkie rabbit took 4 whole minutes for him to eat. He took it in his mouth and did a quick head shake a few times while he ate it. I use a large food mat to put the rabbit on and wash it each time. There was a tiny amount of blood that came off just because my cat moved the rabbit around on the mat a few times. This is such great quality!

    High quality!

By Christy on August 19, 2018

It is clear that these rabbits are very healthy, clean, and tasty. My dog loves them so much that I have to halve them first, or he will attempt to eat the whole thing in one sitting! I always have a couple in the freezer for "whole prey" days.

    Love the different sizes

By Megan on July 10, 2018

I recently ordered WP rabbits for the whole gang as a treat for one of our dogs birthday. We gave the dogs both jumbo rabbits and the cat got a pinkie rabbit. One dog dug right in, finished in about 15 minutes. The other wasn't quite sure what to do, but chowed down after I cut open the abdomen. The pinkie rabbits are the first thing my cat has refused to eat! Not a problem with the product (my dogs loved them), just her preference I suppose. Can't wait to order more for the dogs!

    Cornsnake loves them!

By Karen on May 17, 2018

My Okatee cornsnake loves these!

    pinkie rabbits

By Susan on January 18, 2018

Sammy Cat LOVES them. Wasn't sure how to store them, so I cut them up into bite-sized pieces on my designated meat cutting board and packed into freezing jars - very easy to do! Best to keep them frozen while doing this, can be a little messy. Another gold star for Hare Today! Thank you!

Good product, my dog doesn't get it...

By Sarah on November 29, 2017

My female enjoys whole prey days. She'll plop down in the backyard and start ripping her food apart. My male....sigh. There is several hours of playing with it, rolling on it, dancing around it, carrying it to different parts of the yard, guarding it from his sister, barking at it... IF he finally eats it, it's usually about 4-6 hours later. We don't do whole prey often because I don't have 6 hours to wait for him to finish a meal most days. Regardless, it's a good product if your dog isn't a complete weirdo.

    Love them

By Wendy on October 26, 2017

My 2 dogs love the whole prey rabbits. No allergies as my 2 suffer from allergies. The different sizes work well and easy to eat. They eat the stomach and intestines. Thank you HTGT!!!

    Dogs loved them!!

By Sarah on September 1, 2017

Thank you for offering these bunnies and for the helpful advice when I had questions about feeding whole prey for the first time! My yellow lab and miniature schnauzer each enjoyed a small bunny! They looked great - nice and clean. I didn't remove the stomach or intestines (the dogs ended up eating all of it) and they didn't incur any digestive upset either which was great! I could tell my dogs enjoyed eating like this, it was perfectly natural for them! I will order these bunnies again soon!

    Again, very impressed!

By Callie on March 3, 2017

Clean and healthy looking, packaged very nicely, overall really impressed!

    Good

By Matt on August 20, 2016

Ordered the small bunns. Love the sizes, very excited to feed them. Thanks.

    Full of poop.

By Alice on April 7, 2016

Nice size and looks good, but the stomachs are FULL of food. I'm not sure on other dogs, but mine CAN NOT handle it. It gives her very runny stool and a miserable tummy. I've never had to order from a company, and the rabbits I've always gotten were fasted 24 hrs prior to prevent this. While the meat looked amazing and my dog loved it, I'm not sure I will order again. :(

Hare Today Response: Personally I feel it is cruel to withhold food and water for 24 hours prior to euthanizing so I do not follow this practice. A whole feeder animal is exactly that with stomach and poop! Most dogs will leave the stomach and intestinal tract. If your dog doesn't then you could also remove it yourself. We also offer more processed rabbits such as whole skinned rabbit or rabbit pieces.

My Dogs absolutely LOVE this stuff

By Brad on February 23, 2016

I have an Olde English Buldogge and a Boerboel. Both have been raw fed Hare Today since they were 8 weeks old. They both love this product and the quality shows in their coats as well as their health.

Frozen but not too frozen !

By Amelia on February 1, 2016

We ordered several of these for our puppy. When they arrived I would cut it up and then grind it in our meat grinder.. They arrived frozen but not to frozen to cut.. it was perfect !
Only downside was that when you cut into the cavity the stench of poop was unbearable ! Guess this is normal for whole prey !

    Always a winner

By Ryan on November 12, 2015

Been getting these rabbits for a while now and they're always a winner with my dogs. Sometimes, they don't really know what to do with them because of the fur so I have to rip a lot of it off and expose the meat.

My only complaint with these would be that they usually have intestines full of poop and once they go to the dogs, there's no getting them back to take that part out. The dogs usually end up eating it. No big deal though.

It'd also be awesome to get a bulk discount for ordering a case of these or so.

    Alas, the small rabbit was

By Jessica on October 5, 2015

Alas, the small rabbit was too big for my Savannah cat to know what to do with. However, my housemate's pug was all about scarfing this down! She's not fed raw food ordinarily and my housemate was amazed that her #2s weren't horrific for the next day or two. Definately a good meal size for a small/medium sized dog.

    Excellent Quality

By Joaquin on September 5, 2015

I have purchased around a dozen rabbits in the last year or so and every one has been solid quality. They're healthy, fairly fat, and always look good inside and out. The cats love them more than any other kind of meat.
