Cats like them too

I tried these for my three girls (cats). They are adventurous and not afraid to try new foods! Had to halve some of the rib bones and cut strips of the meat off to help them get started. But, they work all the meat off and gnaw on the bones. They don’t do a lot of damage with their tiny cat mouths, but it keeps them happily busy. Next batch I pull out of the freezer I’ll try removing the meat for feeding and make a bone broth. I like having as many protein options as possible to keep my girls healthy and happy.

I’ve purchased 2 packages of the “large” bones. Both contained only pieces that resembled a ham steak with a small bone in the center. Much to small for my Springer. I trimmed them and he got the trim and my Lhasa the bone so we were able to make it work. Would really love to get goat bones appropriate sized for him though.

Too much fat

Not sure I’m talking about same bones as other reviewers. . This is 3rd time I bought them and there’s still too much fat on them. I’ve complained before (after 2nd purchase) and was assured a new guy cutting the bones and he’d be spoken to re trimming. Ok if your dog is healthy and or doesn’t get diarrhea from fat, but my 10.5 lb dog loves to chew on bones but fat not good for him. Out of 2lbs (32 Oz) of small goat bones, was 7 Oz of thick fat esp on all the many rib bones in my bag.. And bones still not clean. I even threw 2 bones into a soup I was making for my pup since nothing left on bone after trimming. I stopped buying ground goat because of all the fat and will not buy these bones again. So be aware of what you’re buying. I love Hare Today products, just disappointed in the fatty “small meaty goat bones”.

There is a normal fat variance based on the sex and age of animal at time of butchering. We will continue to monitor fat contains.

First my Dog loves Goat, Second they make the BEST Bone Broth! My dog is too small to chew the bones so he gets strips of fresh, high quality red meat. I use the bones, leaving some meat on them, to make nutritious bone broth. The combination of the bone broth containing a little stewed goat served with a meal is a winner. It's great for their gut health especially so for those with digestive issues.

We love both the large bones and small. Large are very meaty, and are great for a meal and the smalls are nice for treats. My AmStaff LOVES goat the best! We have never been disappointed ordering from Hare Today!
More than just a bone!

I give these large goat bones to my dog, along with some rabbit organs, as a meal. She has chronic pancreatitis, so she needs low fat food, and this fits the bill. She usually needs a little help getting started, so I cut a few strips of meat off with kitchen scissors. There is certainly plenty of meat, too, as these look more like small roasts than the bones I used to buy from the local meat locker. She usually eats the whole thing, but I make sure to stay in the room with her, just in case she has a problem. Any leftover bone goes straight into the garbage. Also, she won't eat these two days in a row (perhaps all the chewing makes her jaw sore?), so I put one of the two bones back into the freezer after thawing. Definitely two paws up from Dani!!

I purchased the small goat bones for my 15lb dog. It was our first time trying a meaty bone. She has done well with other bone-in foods so I felt it was time to move onto an actual meaty bone. She enjoys them very much and devours it in record time! I like that the goat is quite meaty but also low in fat. We will rotate these into the menu a couple of times a week for sure!

Definitely meaty! We received two in a package. Took my 50 lb poodle almost an hour until I threw out the remaining bone. My 30 lb poodle who has more experience with bones finished in under 20 minutes and I tossed the remaining bone.

Perfect balance of meat and bone! Pair up with a little bit of liver and you've given a well balanced meal. We rotate these in about 2-3x per week. Tracy was super helpful in steering me towards the goat bones, because my older dog can't handle the beef bones anymore, and these are a little easier to break up for her teeth. My dog also needed to lose some weight, so Tracy also suggested these because they are so lean. We love these! Takes Jersey about 20 minutes to get through one chunk...so great way to feed and occupy them!

These are amazing! I feed my GSD these in place of the ground goat as a meal - or - two. There is always a ton of meat on them and then the bone parts allow for that important after dinner cleaning for his teeth! The perfect food!

As stated in the description, there's a LOT of meat on these bones. I expected the center bone to be somewhat large so I wasn't sure if my GSD would get more than 1.5 lbs of meat off it, but I was happy to be proven wrong. The entire bone weighed in at 2 lbs, 5 oz initially and after 15 minutes in which my girl made quick work of this, the small remaining bone in the middle weighed... 3 oz! Need I say more? I am looking forward to ordering many more of these, and because I rotate these into my GSD's diet no more than twice a week, I'm positive this is one item that she'll never get tired of.

All my cats and dogs love their raw food, but when the vet said my daughter's dog-recovering from heartworm and confined to a kennel- tested with crystals in her urine, I got her these small goat bones. She loves to go into her kennel and work these for hours. I think they are just the thing for her! She is now glowingly healthy, beautiful teeth, and super energetic! They are just the size for a day for her; she's 45 lbs.

Good amount of meat on these, dog loved it! The only downside is that I got 1 huge one, I was hoping for 2 or 3 pieces. I'm lazy when it comes to preparing their food!

I like these a lot. As it says they do have a lot of meat on them - my 80-lb Shepherd/Lab makes quick work of that. But the bones are the perfect size for him as well as my 20-lb Tibetan Terrier and 30-lb Cocker mix to gnaw for many days to come. It's hard to find bones that can't either be quickly crunched and swallowed, or have me worrying someone is going to break a tooth on.
