Perfect size for my 7# cat

By Kristine on November 2, 2023

My 2-year-old, 7# cat ate half in the am & half at noon. This was her first quail, and she munched the new protein with enthusiasm.
Perfect size bones for a cat.

Cats loved the mix I put it in

By Lotus on May 21, 2022

I gave them the wing to start and the cats were very into the taste of the quail, but were confused about how to eat it and kept trying and failing. I got stressed about the bones (which I know intellectually are fine for them to eat) and also about them carrying it over onto the carpet. So, I skinned and deboned the quail to chop up into pieces and use as boneless meat to add to a pheasant meat grind mix. They LOVED it! Hard to say if they liked the pheasant, turkey organs or the quail in the mix, but sometimes they leave the boneless chunks for later and that was not the case here - everything got inhaled. Each package yielded approx 9 ounces of boneless skinless meat.

    Easy Prep

By Maegan on March 29, 2022

My 1 year old cat loves this and the bones are great for his dental health! Very easy to prepare

    Fresh and juicy prey

By chenkun on March 16, 2021

Cat can eat whole prey in very short amount of time. Bone, organ, pieces everything!! Definitely buy more next time!

    Another great product

By Bryn on July 11, 2020

Another favorite for the ferrets. Perfect size and super easy to cut up for my ferrets. They loved them!!

Good for introducing to whole prey

By Mareike on June 25, 2020

My Lab practically inhaled (but did chew) these quails. I plan to slowly introduce her (and myself) to whole prey and found these quails helpful in so far as they come dressed and thus have a clean, "meaty "appearance that resembles more processed commercial raw food. Since my dog loved them so much, I now feel more confident in ordering real whole prey quails.

    Amazing quality

By Wanda on April 3, 2020

My dog likes quail so much she ate all four in a week since the bones are perfect for her size and quail is one of her favorites.

    Cats favorite!

By Destiny on May 13, 2018

My cat grew up on quail! Literally weaned onto quail. Always a favorite and she is always begging for more...

    Great quality!

By Larissa on March 9, 2018

My dogs enjoyed a quail each. I like that they were processed already. We've since moved on to bigger chickens as they've grown.

    Rusty loves this

By Gina on January 11, 2018

My cat Rusty loves this quail and he is very finicky with just about everything else. Very clean little quail well packaged and easy to serve.

    A nice treat

By Sarah on November 29, 2017

These are a little more pricey for the size, so we just do them a couple of times a month. Both dogs love them. I have larger dogs, but they aren't great chewers. These are a nice size for them and easy for them to finish.

    Love these dressed quails!

By Sarah on May 12, 2017

My nearly 15lb pup gets one of these dressed quails per week. It keeps her busy for about 20-30 minutes. She has no problems with the small bones in these quails either; she chomps away on them! I will be ordering more for her!

    Dressed Quail

By Sandy on June 30, 2016

Well, Boo thought she had actually hit the jackpot this time. Last night was her first offering of dressed quail (and no...they really didn't have little clothes on...just beautiful, raw meat and bone). I put one down on her towel for her, and she walked over and smelled it...then licked it...and THEN got down to business. It didn't take her long to finish it up, and afterward she came over to the recliner where I was sitting, jumped up by me, laid down, and she was sacked out for the rest of the evening. Talk about SATISFACTION!!! These will certainly be on the menu periodically for my 11 pound pup...thanks, Hare Today, for another WONDERFUL product!

Great for newbie bone chomping kitties!

By Rosemary on June 24, 2016

These are perfect size for cats learning to eat bone. Three out of four kitties love these. My little hold out licks them but isn't quite sure about eating bone yet. I like them because the bones are small and flexible so I'm not so nervous feeding them. I guess my little hold out isn't the only one learning .

    Great for Chihuahua!

By Jillian on March 28, 2016

My 5lb chihuahua loves these! They are the perfect size for her to eat whole as a very big meal or cut in half for a regular size meal. She gets a good workout chewing on these. I have a hard time finding bones that are easy for her to chew through without some help, but the bones in these are perfect!

Good for RMB for my dog

By Lily on March 20, 2016

I add these to my dogs morning meal. She usually gets her meaty bones in the morning. These are great for that. Bone to meat ratio is a little high but we just add some other meat sources to raise it up. She definitely loves them.

By Kimberley on April 11, 2015

My cats LOVE these! Since I am just beginning to transition my 6 cats to a raw diet, I did cut them up into small pieces. Only 4 of my 6 cats will eat raw so far (the 2 hold-outs are total kibble addicts). I ordered a variety of meats for my first order and so far, these have been their favorite. They circle around my feet when prepping these, meowing until they're served. They happily gnaw the chunks and wing bones (but are not yet fans of the leg bones). I ran one through my grinder, and they gobbled it up in seconds!

By Lisa on February 24, 2015

I fed quail to my cats for the first time and they loved it. When they were eating it, they both were trying to keep theirs away from each other.

By Jamie on January 31, 2014

My ferrets totally loved this. One quail lasted my 4 ferrets the entire day. Totally getting this again since it was a huge success for my furkids

By Cyndi on August 9, 2013

I am a newer raw feeder and I ordered the whole quail for the first time. My dog LOVED it! Me? Not so much, lol! I couldn't really watch her eat it, but she ate with such enthusiasm. It makes me feel good to know that she loves what she is eating, the quality is awesome, because it's from Hare Today, and it's good for her, and it's a million times better than kibble! Thank you Hare Today for providing food like this for my dog! :)

By Kelsey on August 30, 2012

My dog had his first quail tonight and he loved it. It was the perfect size for one meal. This is a great product!

I was not certain how I would handle a whole bird as I'm a bit squeamish about some things. The dressed quail was fine. The head is the worst part (for me--Patsy loved playing with it). The lack of features makes it look more like just another bird from the grocery store so it was easier to deal with. Patsy would eat these all the time. He's since stopped, but that's a cat for you. I will probably try them again later this year after he's had a break from them for a while.
